Yup, that sounds like it may be an issue with your front end config, ive never even heard of the one your using so I can't be much help there. Glad I was able to get it booting how you wanted.

I picked up something from your previous post:

You said the front-end added a path to C:\QM to your autoexec.bat, but the frontend is actually in C:\mame063b.

I am not familiar with QM but that could cause your problems with the FE right there.

I think what you want to do is change your shell selection back to explorer, delete QM, re-install it (this time to C:\QM).

I did manage to get QM working, and even to start up, but as you rightly say its a Dos program, and even though I could manually run it from windows, when booting up directly into it, there was still problems.  I might give mamewah another try, as I managed to find a dos program that detects what hardware is running on older systems last night.  I ran the program and then found the correspoding drivers for my soundcard (soundblaster live) and updated the drivers for the grafixcard, which I  believe is a voodoo 3.  The resolution is much better now, thankfully and might have been the cause of mamewah and other emulators not working correctly.  I couldt seem to find Mala, dont suppose you have a direct link Tiger-Heli?

Another thing I thought of, is that I know there is a way to get rid of the "press OK" screen/s in mame, but is there a way of using a certain key on the joypad to input coins and select 1UP?

Now the message is in english, when I try to run Mala, says it needs mame 0.84 win32 command line version to run.  Ill download that and see if I have any more luck with that.

Hey, buzz me anytime.  Been running my cabinet since '97 without modification or incident.  Almost 20 yrs now.  My 6-yr old digs it, big time.  Or again, use new QuickMAME 6.x which supports Win32/Win64/Linux.  dreadboy@hotmail.com
