I get the feeling my wife would laugh her ass hat off, but I still wouldn't get "credit" for a stellar bouquet of these

No, I would not get credit for giving something like that to my wife. I would probably get reminded about all the items on the honey-do list that would have been a better use of my time.

On the other hand, if my kid's made that for her, she would love it.

I actually did make my wife some roses out of paper and wire once (she still has them). I got full credit, my wife is cool. I wish I would have thought of duct tape though, that one is way cooler.

I am fairly certain I would get treated most kindly for such a gift.

Of course...

The chances of it coming out looking that good, with me making it, are pretty unlikely, so maybe I would get brained after all.

Also... It depends on what the circumstance is. If I was trying to give it to her as an "I love you and was thinking of you" gift, then I imagine I would come out substancially better, than if I were giving it to her as some sort of pathetic "I'm sorry" gift.

I am 29, so I have not "quite" hit old-fogey status yet.

With 3 kids, I have certainly felt it creeping up on me though. As long as you keep giving me signs to look out for, then just maybe I can keep ahead of it.

I ain't never heard the term before this thread. I guess at 27 I'm still a bit of a young'un, though. My dad's like 70, though. Never heard him (or anyone else, for that matter) say it before.

Personally, I think Drew made it up and the only thing it has to do with old people is that without his early onset alzheimers he would probably never have "thought" of it.

Funny, I had you pegged at closer to the 20, 21 range. Turns out I'm only 8 years older than you. I guess on the internet 35 drops you squarely in the old fogey range. I don't have any kids though, so I can still act as imature as I want. I DO have kids, and can do the exact same things you brag about. The only difference is that in my house, I get many more funny looks than you. I figure if they think I'm nuts now, they'll never realize when I become senile
