We gave this a shot last Sunday. EXCELLENT change-up and it seemed like we all played TONS better than normal because we were having a good time and were more worried about how to play our "tilts" instead of our scores!
Awesome concept!
Did you have trouble "enforcing" the tilts? I know I'm gonna be pissed if I'm playing a par 5 and I'm on in 2 and someone pulls a tilt on me. My buddies and I are a bunch of hacks so we may modify the tilts slightly to not affect any shots at an Eagle.

If it were a league, we would, but everyone knows the concept going in, so the scenario you bring up REALLY sucks if you're the person being "tilted", but it's slanted enough in the direction of not TOTALLY hosing your buddies that it ends up being fair. If you downloaded the rules, check out the "when can you drop a tilt on someone". You'll notice that if you don't drop a tilt on your opponent on the first hole (and follow the guidelines for when you can drop a tilt on 'em again), you'll end up leaving at least ONE in the bag after playing 18.
We actually had something similar happen. Par 3. Guy almost aces the hole after the ball hits the flagstick and doesn't drop, but lies next to the hole by what looks like the width of the ball. He got hosed because it was a windy day and it was blowing the flagstick, causing it to tilt and not let his ball drop for an ace, and we got to tilt him with the "gotta take a mulligan". After hitting his mulligan into the water on the right hand side...it's kinda hard to stay pissed when EVERY SINGLE OTHER PERSON is laughing so hard at you

If you've got guys that'll be that pissed that they can't see the humor of the situation, I don't suggest playing this with 'em unless you are willing to pass up a tilt just to keep 'em happy. I dunno what your version of a hack is, but if par is 72, no one I play with will break 80 unless they play the game of their life. 85 is our best golfer, and everyone else falls in the 90-100+ range. The guy who could card an 85 is a good egg, and we'd take every chance we could to screw up his round with a well-timed tilt, and he'd hate us for it, but would be laughing as hard, if not harder, than the rest of us.
Common poke heard during our round - "Par 3, on the green in 1.....yeah, I think you can turn that into a 6"

I'd like to think we also have enough honor in our group not to hose somebody who had a shot at eagle. It's only been done once amongst our group, and they promptly carded an 8 on the next hole to make up for it.
