I've got an Amiga 1200 that I hacked into a large PC case. At the time I thought it was awesome. However Amiga emulation has reached the point where an average PC can emulate an Amiga that is far faster than a top of the range A4000. And with emulation you also get a massive hard disk, VGA graphics at full speed etc. So I haven't actually used my real Amiga for several years. But I'd never get rid of it.
I did that with my A4000, as I wanted one of the G3 Phase5 accelerators that never appeared

... oh, and a PSU that could handle all my peripherals. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't, as the machine would be much cooler now, but at the time, it was worthwhile.
The Amiga was the best home computer of the 80s IMHO. It's just a shame that Commodore was run by donkeys.
Donkeys would have been good in comparison to the imbeciles that was in charge. Getting rid of Jack Tramiel in 1984 was the beginning of the end - an end that took a decade and the entire commercial life of the Amiga (and a bit) to end. It really was a shame.
Even now, when Amiga OS4 is (finally) released, I'll have to really fight the urge to buy it. Damn, the Amiga was so far ahead of everything else on the market for so long (even after its commercial demise).
