What is a discworld

I was thinking a scifi novel series by Larry Niven, but I believe that was ringworld.

Somehow related, I assume.

Gaspode... the disc's talking non-wonder dog? You brought it up and you don't know who Gaspode is?

"He's in love," said Gaspode. "It's very tricky."
"Yeah, I know how it is," said the cat sympathetically. "People throwing old boots and things at you."

Discworld was the name of a Little House On The Prairie book.  Gaspod was the name of Laura Ingles dog.  At the end of the book she had to shoot it because it got VD from a raccoon.

hmmm.  Skimming this thread lends me to believe everyone is playing a game as Laura Ingalls where you ride an elephant until you get VD, at which point you turn into a dog atop a turtle.  You win when you reach gaspode and shoot the raccoon before it contracts ringworm.

Now wrap that up in several neat paperback packages and you've got the complete set of Discwrold novels.

Start at book 1 and read them straight through. Occasionally stop to eat. I buy them in hardback when they come out because I can't wait for paperback.

It has something to do with a porcupine, an accordion, two sticks of butter, a handful of thumbtacks (does that make them handtacks?), and a pink feather boa.

Don't challenge me.  I win ;D

That's the one, but I still dispute the whole "worst" thing. I mean that racoon looks like he'd be pretty easy to shoot.

There were TWO games.

The city is called Anhk Morpork, home to the famous River Anhk.

Quote
The river itself, over the years has become so polluted as to be the only river in above freezing conditions that you could chew (Although if you should, it is not advised that you swallow). It flows from the Ramtop mountains and by the time it reaches the city is heavily silt laden, and after it has flowed (It moves faster than the land around it) through the city the Watch can trace a bodies outline on it. Despite all logic, there are fish surviving in the Ankh, although the fact that they explode on contact with fresh air (if Morpork's air could be called that) they explode suggests the effects of a magical leak from Unseen University.
