PINMAME Question
« on: August 15, 2005, 12:22:45 am »
Please forgive me if this question is not acceptable here.
I want to know where i can get pinball roms for PINMAME?
I can find "tables" for pins, but i do not think that is what i want.  I would like to add PINMAME to my cab for some other kind of fun, Please help me out here.
Also can i "bring up" PINMAME with my MameWah?  Like have my MAMEWAH running, with my mame games and lists, then "switch" to the PINMAME in MAMEWAH some how?  If that is possible, PLEASE help me set that up!
If anyone knows of a pinball rom burner, I will be happy to purchase the PINBALL ROM burning service from them.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes you can set up pinmame to run from mamewah, see below.  As to your first question, this is not the place to ask such shady things  :o.  You may want to search for the two popular pinmame sites, as these should help you get the thing running completely ;).

I have done some research, and I hope this helps noobs around the world.

If you know how to set up vpinball and pinmame, you then need to get a wrapper from howard casto's lazarus site.  Follow what the instructions that come with it say to do.  (Put the wrapper in your tables folder)  Then setup your mamewah paths with the .ini the way whatisk has his set.  I am assuming you know enough about mamewah to get to this point and have a layout installed from http://www.screenshotarchive.com/  or some other vpinball layout.

Here are some helpful sites.

All the vpinball you can handle:
http://irpinball.ztnet.com/
http://www.vpforums.com/

Howard Casto's Lazarus page that has the wrapper for vpinball:
http://www.oscarcontrols.com/lazarus/wrapperdownload.html

The official board for mamewah questions:

Here is a very good tutorial on setting up mamewah and explanation of it:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=41322.msg376513#msg376513

Here is whatisk's .ini from the thread:

In closing, if you search these boards, you will find many ways this has been set up in mamewah, as JCrouse has a wrapper as well.  I would stick with the method here, as it is the first one that has worked very well.  Howard's wrapper works perfectly.(Except for that damn stay off drugs thing in the beginning-  ;D)
