using WG-D9200 outside of cab
« on: December 20, 2002, 01:00:28 pm »
Just a quick question..
I have not started on a cab yet.. but..

If I were to purchase a wells gardner D9200 27" arcade monitor.. would I be able to use it say.. just on top of a table?

Basically.. does it have to be inside a cab or can it be used stand-alone on a temp basis while i'm building the cab?

Yeah mine was sitting on a towel on my garage floor for a few days - just wanted to make sure everything worked before I started in on the cab.

Obviously be careful around it - it IS a high-voltage CRT after all.  Rather dangerous around kids and people who aren't in the know: "ooh - what's that red suction cup for?...."  :P

:D

So I suppose I would have to discharge it before mounting it in my cab? (for safety?)

HUAHAHA...so funny :D.(back to topic)

You could buy it but just make sure its in a safe place.like you know..make sure no kids try to touch anything and you dont really have to discharge the monitor for no reason.you could mount without any problem...

As for all of us (GUYS,MAN,DUDES etc.) like to stick when we  see a HOLE, with this HOLE on top of that monitor, DON'T STICK IT IN, trust me, it will cut it off and kill you.

well.. i have no kids yet.. and none really come to the house.. just me and the wife..

she doesn't bother my stuff anyway hehe.. so only one that will get fried is me!

so mounting shouldn't be a problem after  a few weeks of use? (saftey wise)

or do you have to worry about getting shocked right out of the box?

MAN !  :P...no...nothing happens when you take it out the box.
Only way you might kill yourself is trying to discharge without right tool or you dont know what you are doing.

also,if you touch the tube place where you see all the scary parts.and like thenasty(man this name is cool) said,do not stick anything in the hole..say..your finger.
