Problem with defining keys in ADVMame
« on: November 27, 2002, 09:54:11 pm »
I'm now running pure DOS using ArcadeOS as my front-end and ADVMame (latest version) as my MAME emulator.

The problem I am having is that everytime I re-define my MAME standard function keys (Menu, Cfg, Exit, Pause, P1 Up, P1 Dn, P1 Button 1, etc...), the system doesn't remember these definitions.

Here is what I was doing:

1.  Run ArcadeOS
2.  Launch a game
3.  While in game, going to menu, selecting Config MAME keys or whatever it says.  This is the non-game specific key definitions which should stay the same as default for all games.
4.  I exit the game, and re-enter that game or another game and the key definitions are defaulted back to the MAME default.

This is exactly how I use to do it in both standard DOS Mame and Windows Mame, and it worked fine.

Anyone have an ideas what I am doing wrong???

Thanks

1. make sure you have a CFG folder.
2. make sure the default.cfg is not read-only.
3. run games with ADvmame only (no arcadeos involve) then test it again.
