Keywiz MAX
« on: April 10, 2005, 08:17:36 am »
Has anyone been able to sucessfully get keywiz to launch an alternative key mapping at boot up?  I can not for the life of me get this to work.  I have follwed the intructions but can not seem to find where I am supposed to change the command lines.  by the way I am running Windows ME.

Thanks in advance for your help

not sure what you mean "at bootup"? explain in more details what you're trying to do and what you have done so far.

Haven't tried it at boot-up, but have got it to work using batch files.

See http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,34895.0.html or E-mail RandyT.

BTW, I had a problem with the batchfiles not working after Windows detected and installed a Standard Keyboard Driver for it.  Delete one of them if you show two in Device Manager.

And yeah, post what you've tried so far.

Randy is really cool when it comes to support for his stuff.

Back when I first got my keywiz, I couldn't get the auto-loading profiles to work... I emailed him with my question, and with the commandline params and so forth...

...and he immediately saw a problem in the syntax of the switches I was sending (I was sending /a /pa and it should have been /a /p a... or was it the other wat 'round....?  :)

In any event, just from the wording of his response, I knew immediately that when I got home and tried it, it would work. Nothing like the tech support disaster IOmega gave me... http://www.crazykennas.com/base/index.php?menu=Dave%21

Thanks to all of you that responded.  I did get in touch with Randy and my problem is solved.  Great product but even better customer service.  All I was trying to do was get around screens that ask you to type OK.  Randy told me to move the joystick left then right.  Simple solution to a problem I apparently was way over thinking.  This site and all of your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Huh???  That's a WAY different question then what you asked.  But there are other answers to that.  Search on "OK Screens" in this forum.  It gets asked about once a week.
