I don't see how using an MGCD (or similar devide) is any fun when you are simply timed for per-quarter play.  Who wants that Coin # and Timer in the lower right hand corner?

i think its a great idea. there are dip switches for coin/timer so maybe it can be set to free play? and then it would play just like normal...

Gotta be a good thing.

Any device that provides another option for connectivity has to be a plus.

Think he's just a little bit optimistic on the price though.
I didn't touch it....honest!

Hooking a SNES up in an arcade cabinet is VERY easy and way cheaper than this device.

Parts you need are:
 - SCART cable (it's an output cable used in England. Cost ya maybe $15?)
 - Stereo sound amplifier with volume control (cheap one would be $15 at Radio Scrap)
 - soldering iron
 - 2 control pads to sacrfice
 - snes console
 - arcade cab with monitor and speakers

That's it!

I did it MANY years ago... Here's my thread about it:

Hey ray  i saw you thread about the snes monitor hookup, where can i find the scart adapter , i called some stores and they had no idea what i was looking for           thanks    -tommy

You cann't buy scart cables in the US.  You'll have to order it from an import store.  Make sure you order the correct scart cable though as there are two versions, Euro and Japanese (you probably want the japanese version).

does your faq explain how to hookup an NES?...it would force me to play the old sucker.  i think the NES's best picture can come from an S-video adapter, not RGB.

You realise RGB is better than even S-video, right?

Here is a brief instruction and pin-out info here:
http://www.mameworld.net/pc2jamma/misc_arc1.html
They recommend using a resistor between the sync and ground... I don't remember having to do that, but it's possible. It was a long time ago!

oh, thanks, but it doesn't mention anything older than the megadrive.  the NES was too old for RGB support, AV was advanced then, so i guess i need to buy a scart AV converter.  do you need a separate cabinet if you solder your controls, i.e. they'll be attached to the NES controller instead of the board?

looks like it can be done without soldering...
