Betson monitor and PC standby
« on: February 08, 2005, 04:28:10 pm »
I have a MAME setup using a Betson monitor and ARCADEVGA card.

When the PC goes to sleep (due to inactivity) the Betson displays a rectangular box that says 'check signal' (or some such). Obviously this is due to the PC being asleep.

Is there a way to make this BOX disappear so that it does not burn into the screen?

Right now the best I can do is turn on a 'blank' screensaver.

Thanks  :o

you need to modify you're power settings.  Disable turn off hard disks, and monitor, and all that jazz.  You don't want any of that stuff enabled in a cabinet.  Just use the screensaver supplied by your fe, or launch a game that has one.

Desmatic,

Yes, that is what I'm doing. Basically, throwing up a 'blank' screensaver at 15 minutes of no activity.

I just thought it would be nicer to have the PC actually 'sleep' when not in use, but no biggie!

Thanks again for the help.

jsansoterra,

What is your opinion and experience for the Betson?  I assume thats the 27" one that Im on the verge of getting.  I just got my arcadevga card in the mail.

I want to head to the pittsburgh betson soon.

So far, the Betson monitor has been terrific. I did all the setup tweaking with my normal 'pc' video card and then switched to the ARCADEVGA card when it was finally installed in my cabinet.

BTW: I installed it into a SlikSik cabinet and it fit great. The bezel SlikStik sent with the cabinet fit the monitor as well.
