That's Blaster Master.

And yes, that game rules.

Oh yeah, I always get that mixed up with that guy from madmax 3!

Most gamers played a variety of NES games, so we should expect a diverse list.

There was one text based game for the NES that I played (and beat)...

Shadowgate

Fairly simple once you sat and thought out what the object of each area was...

do you mean those point and click adventures?  i was thinking more along the lines of would you like to buy land, food, mules or work?  what do you do with your army today?  i mixed them up.

I think M.C. Kids is under-rated. Yeah it has a Mcdonalds license on the surface, but the game is really a Super Mario 3 inspired game. The developers managed to copy the SMB3 play mechanics almost EXACLTY the same, so the play control is there. There are lots of interesting play mechanics, like flipping the world gravity upside down, blocks you can pick up and throw around, boats, etc. The game was so much like SMB3 that Nintendo was upset. They forced a few changes to the graphics. That's nuts huh?

NO MORE!!

Haha I played MC kids back when mame.dk was up.  My cousin showed me this like a year and a half ago and just recently I looked at it.  I loved the simple games:  Duck Hunt :)  There was this one game with a level editor where you were a tank and you shot crap around...there were like different terrains, grass, walls, etc.  If anyone remembers, please tell me, I loved that game :'(

techmo super bowl, and rbi baseball, clearly.

yep. my two faves. there's also tons of modified roms and editors available for download to keep the game even more fresh with updated rosters or great teams from the past.

What's the site address??

If you haven't found it yet:

http://www.tecmosuperbowl.com/

I liked the Tecmo Rose Bowl hack.
