« on: December 20, 2004, 03:28:40 pm »
Hello
I know how to play mp3 in mamewah, but how do you set it up so that when you say click a game it can use a short noise? or when u first turn it on it plays a sound then goes into the mp3.

Read the bottom of \docs\layouts.txt - it explains what to do.

I knew how to set this up for the sounds.... but where do you get the sounds from?  I know that Mame uses some samples, but only for a few games.  I'd like to set up my MameWah something like this....

When entering MameWah you ge the Donkey Kong level start tune.
When exiting MameWah you get the Pacman death sound.
When moving through the list you get the Galaxian or Space Invaders shoot sound.

You get the idea.... but must I capture these sounds myself? Or can they be easily extracted from  the games / roms themselves?  If so, how?

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

Minwah.... I do have a slight problem. I can get all the sounds to work in the layouts folder such as intro, gamelaunch, exit etc. except for gameexit.  I can't get that one to work.  Must I exit the game in a  particular fashion? Am I naming the file correctly....  "gameexit"?
