So I got outrun2 for mah xbox yesterdy.. +you figure it out ;) and all in all its a pretty cool game.. at least i think so. Or something to tide me over till Halo 2 is out. along with having an arcade mode there is a challenge mode that puts your skill to the test. kinda like a buch of trick drivin'

its cool , if you like drifting in a vid this ones for you. the 3 tunes from the classic are here along with some new one.

No need to tide you over till Halo 2 is out... it is ;)

Outrun 2 is pretty good though, but it pales in comparison to Burnout 3.

Problems with outrun2.

- Don't let you use custom music tracks (WTF why not ??)
- There are slowdowns and doesnt run solid 60 fps.
- Controls isn't that friendly..drifting sucks !
- Doesnt have the "speedy" feeling...it plays just like Dreamcast version of Daytona USA with better controls.

However, graphic is awsome ! Still a good game though..old school outrun fans probly won't be disapointed but things could have been better.

What arcade racer does ;)

I've never encountered any slowdowns, and I've completed all routes.  Do US Xbox's run @ 60hz?

It is easy to drift which for most people is probably a good thing.  I actually find it harder not to drift, which can be a pain at times (particularly on missions).

I think it's pretty quick - Burnout3 without boost.

Yeah the graphics are great...I'm not disappointed by it, I think they retained the arcade feel pretty well.  I am finding some of the missions impossible tho  :(

ok the spped missions are so @#$#@$32 hard!!!

I have a 166 cable in my xbox and a 120gig 7200rpm drive and i have not experianced any slow down at all.. it does take a sec for the course to load but its still better than a ps2 poad time ;)

any im with minwah.. its not that realistec but its like outrun 1 on steroids. the drifting is cool and the use of the trigger for gas is great for feathering it around a bend in the road.

NEXT UP:  my halo 2 review after lunch today :)

The fact that Outrun 2 has an awesome unlockable version of Outrun 1 makes me happy to be alive.  :)

Oh yeah, Burnout 3 is awesome too.  ;D

 * spoiler alert! *

You can unlock Outrun classic by entering the code "NINETEEN86" (all caps) in the 'enter code' screen (in the gallery section).

The disappointing thing about Outrun 2 is that the new versions of the classic songs are worse than the originals, although I understand that the original versions can be unlocked.

Overall though, Outrun 2 (both arcade and X-box versions) is easily the best racing game I have ever played. However, I should point out that I haven't tried Burnout 3 yet.
