Dragon King - Setup - What am I doing wrong?
« on: October 27, 2004, 07:20:27 pm »
 ???

I beileve I have my setup done correctly (odvisly not though)  I have read the docs and followed them, and then re-read!  I have setup mame and the rom/art directories.  I made sure the ini files were in the correct dir. I then made my games list.  When I re-scan from the options I see it say on the screen Checking VDirectory 0.   But then I have no games to choose from.  I can't seem to find a troubleshooting faq on Dragon King, any help?!

Thanks!
Anthony

Are you using mame?  If so what version?  if it's a newer version of mame you'll have to download the updated list generator off of the site and replace the one in '\dragon King\list generator\" and re-generate the master list.

Also don't use mame 32... this should be obvious, but you'd be suprised how often people make that mistake.

make sure your mame.cfg in your cfgs folder is setup properly..... if the list generator can't find mame then it's pretty hard to generate the list.

i have a little check list i go through when i'm setting up somthing in dk ( i have like 9 emulators running on it )

name in dat match the 5= in the dir.ini
the config is sending the correct command line ( ie can i get it to work in a command prompt with the same command )
was the master list correctly made with the listmaker
did the 1-XX lists get created when you run the crate game list in the fe
are any of those lists blank?
are the rom names really the same as listed in the dat and the master list.

99% of all my problems i have been able to solve just going through that list , only thing that doesnt cover is wrappers , and thats a whole other world.
