You would think that a high security building like the Pentegon would have had about 10 cameras record that crash.

They're not releasing the videos that captured it, according to that flash site.

Yeah I have never seen anything but that lo-res one in the flash site.  Like I said before I took a tour of the Pentagon while the construction was taking place and the place is a fortress but if you think that a plane will shatter like glass or crash like a wave against it then your wrong.  And even if this did happen why was the lawn perfect when it should have been covered in burning air plane reckage that obivously bouced off the impervious skin of the Pentagon.  Comon that is basic physics with conservation of matter and what have you.

Oswald killed JFK with a single Magic Bullet.

The so-called magic bullet is not the one that killed Kennedy.  The one that killed him was the headshot.  The "magic bullet" went through his upper back.

Now there's a conspiracy I can sink my teeth into.  That darn Johnson just wanted to be president sooooooo bad.   ;)

funny, i never even doubted the validity of the pentagon crash. what i always thought suspicious was the plane that never quite made it to the white house. i recall the very FIRST reports suggesting that it got shot down. that idea dissapeared very quickly. wasn't long before i read a story in the government mouthpiece TIME magazine a really entertaining account of what supposedly happened- you know, several burly men crash-tackling the hijackers thus causing the crash. it was written like a script and as if the reporter was in the plane. i didn't think there were any survivors to tell the tale? THAT is much more interesting than the pentagon crash. 47 years from now when no one cares and we're too old to be angry, they'll probably release the documents.

That story was based on cell conversations with the wives.
BUT, later evidence proved that the hijackers had heard the burly men planning to overthrow them, and sunk the ship, so to speak.

and yes, Oswald was a patsy.

And there were no skid marks leading up to the towers.

If you can't figure out why there wouldn't be marks on the ground from a plane that hit the top of a sky-scraper (one of the tallest buildings in NY as a matter of fact) vs. how strange it is that a plane which was 25' off the ground didn't leave any... then you really don't need to be insulting anyone's intelligence.

If you expect anything that's 25' off the ground to leave marks on the ground, you deserve to have your intelligence insulted.  "off the ground"  OFF  Not on.  Things not ON the ground don't leave marks on the ground.

If you can't be a good example at least try to be a horrible reminder.

but i guess its one way of discouraging terrorists

Yep.  Kinda the way President Bush sees it.  Not much else to do huh?

CIA plot. That's original.  You know Danny you know so much about American politics you should come here and be a citizen so you can actually vote and have a dog in this fight.  It must be kinda frustrating to be so far away from America.  I know I'd think that if I weren't a Proud American.

We are so free and such a force that everybody thinks they are part of us.

And maybe you can pursaude Mr. Putin to release those poor people from his country.  Your "brilliant" point of view might override his resistance.

And you think it was a "brilliant" plan by the Al-Queda group.  I'm sure they would be impressed with your approval.

Why don't you tell the people who buried their fathers how "brilliant" it was. Tell them you think we are not appreciating the "brilliance" of the act.  Who, that are civilized, god fearing people could have imagined the simplicity of just cutting those stewardess's throats with a little box cutter.

Maybe Danny, you could be on a plane, to say America, and you could experience that first hand too.

Then you could tell them before they crashed just how "Brilliant" their plan was.  I'm sure they'd appreciate the compliment. You could say "bravo mate" and everybody would smile at the "brilliance" of the plan.

As for the pentagon and this twisted joke video: While there wasn't much done to the grass that didn't burn, but there was plenty done to the people in the planes.

Danny, as you can see, the word "brilliant" and these terrorist acts don't belong in the same paragraph with each other.

Just because it wasn't you and yours doesn't mean you can be so cold.  It wasn't a TV movie. It wasn't an internet joke. It was men women and children who didn't want to die.

If anybody could believe that any of these acts could be faked by the US government for any reason at any time for even a minute, they have lost what little sense they had.

Danny,

Hannibal lost, didn't he?

We still have peace keeping troops in Bosnia. We didn't supervise that breakdown, but we helped people from dying when the wall fell. We in the US do that.  I belive your wonderful people helped.

Rupert Murdock balances Ted Turner.  You should be proud of him.  You don't get that much power and influence in the world without making something that works.  Ted made CNN and Rupert made Fox.

If you want to impress us, make your own network.

there are many non-americans who know more about your politics than you do. you're too close to see...

I think there are a lot of non-americans who think they do. My point is it's our business. Our country, and our decision.

If you don't like it, then complain to your government and they can register it with the UN.  Then we can talk about it.

As for Russia, I just asked. I could care less how they handle their internal political issues. I don't care how they work it out, as long as they don't kill one another doing it.  I think their military should have set it up a little tighter, maybe a litte more time for recon before they went in.

The Russians are really direct. They don't discuss it with the outside, and why should they?  I think they did the right thing.  These people knew they were going to die, so they were not going to come out alive.  They were the judge of the situation, I wasn't there.  They have delt with this before, last year.

It's a shame that some of the terrorists got away.  The russians are going to as Putin for payback. This may change the world opinion.

But you haven't said - Right thing or wrong thing?  do you have a problem with answering a simple question?

I just hope it doesn't spread to your country. Of any land, I have always wanted to travel to Austraila.  It appears to be a beautiful country.  Maybe one day I can afford it and you and I can sit down over a pint and discuss this face to face.

The F-16s that were on intercept to the plane that crashed in PA flew out of Toledo's Air National Guard base (the first in the area to get birds in the air) The airliner was also being tracked by a controller whom I know and a friend of mine knows better (and has discussed this with him). No fighter ever got close enough to that flight to effect an intercept. It went down on its own.

Any talk that it was shot down is absolute bunk.

oh, and at least australia PAYS for its membership to the united nations...

What does the UN pay the U.S. to supply its only real forces for peacekeeping duties?

Count the number of US lives lost in service of the UN vs. those of other countries.  Then you can talk about "paying."

Danny,

I guess I do have to clarify some points:

When the "wall fell" the European communist block broke down.  It was the event that triggered the disolution to Bosnia and ethnic cleansing. It was the "key" to what happened in Romania and what's happening now in Russia.  The US didn't ask the UN for help there either, we went in on our own.

As far as your "brilliant" Sketch, at what velocity is that paper plane flying? How long does it take for those wings to fall off? 1 second? two seconds?  How much Kinetic energy does it contain at that velocity?

Those wings were traveling at just about 1800 - 2000 meters/sec when they hit.  Even if they came off they would have still went through the wall on their own in a millisecond. Muzzle velocity of a 155mm HE howitzer rounds were in the range of 900 m/s and they don't leave anything in a wall when they hit. This was twice that.  A chicken traveling at that velocity would have made a hole and left no feathers.  The force it would have would be in tons (metric or english).

Quote
i guess the grieving parents of your dead soldiers can take consolation in the fact that their children were forfeit for UN fees...
Here again, you should really think about what you wrote before you hit that enter key.  Your countrymen have bravely served for the causes of freedom in the world too. The US gives more money than any other country to the world for humanitarian efforts, aids, and just about everything else.

BTW, the UN's headquarters is on the US soil.  The UN came to the US asking for a 50 or 100 million dollar loan not too long ago.  I hope we said no, but I doubt it.  I think they could scratch that up from the oil for food money saddam paid the honchos for a blind eye to his military programs.

If the UN is such a great/wonderful/useful organization, I guess we can count on them to take care of this situation in the Sudan right now. What should happen there Danny?

This article in CNN bothers you?  Generals have been known to say off the wall remarks. He said what he believed. Now his entire military record is crap?  Just because he said those things doesn't make him a "fundamentalist".  He didn't strap bombs on himself and blow himself up. I believe the powers that be did pull him off and let others take up the cause that are more politically savy.

Danny, you are right, I was too fast there.  I don't do metric very well.  Here in the US we  do imperial.  It was traveling around 200 m/s when it hit. Less than mach speed.

So the tonnage was only enough to ram it through the middle along with it's wings.

I stand by the analogy of the wall.  That event was when the carnage started there.  We went into Bosnia followed by UN troops later.

And:

'the wall' is much less significant to bosnia, since that was a symbol of the really represive east-german/soviet regime.

My barber is from Bosnia. He only charges 12 bucks and he does a pretty good job.

Danny, Why do we have to change? why don't you go back to imperial?

And another note Danny related to the Russian incident:
"Interfax said the alleged leader of the hostage-takers, an ethnic Ingush named Magomed Yevloyev, had not been found among the dead. Yevloyev is believed to be the leader of the strict Wahhabi sect of Muslims in Ingushetia.

Two U.S. transport planes delivered aid Monday, following a flight from Italy that landed Sunday, bringing antibiotics, bandages and other medical supplies."
