Memorable game music
« on: August 03, 2004, 02:35:10 pm »
What are your favorite game tunes, or memorable tunes?
I think "Splash Wave" and "Magical Sound Shower"  must be the most memorable arcade tunes for me (not a big fan of "Passing Breeze").
However I can still remember the Space Harrier tune (since it was the only arcade game in my town when I was a kid... the money I've spend on that machine ...)

Mario Bros(arcade) and Popeye.

The funniest and most memorable to me is still Pooyan, the digital howling Wolf, its timeless.

Gyruss!

Even though it isn't an original score, its just so cool and fitting for the game.

I'll second Moon Patrol as most catchy original score. Its subtle enough not to annoy, and has a cool bridge that brings it back to the start.
Neo Mr. Do (Visco) has an agonizingly repetitive song that gets stuck in my head for days after I play it. I suppose that makes it good!  ;D

of course Bachs toccata in Gyruss is good. i think it didnt hurt them that around that time (maybe a tad earlier) SKY had a bit of a hit with their rendition of it. so the tune would have already been familiar to many

Zero wing!! duh, duh duh-duh. duh. danananana. dananana. danananana....

i cant believe no ones mentioned DigDug!! its exactly the same as joymonkeys rendition of wonderboy:

The music from Shinobi.  Whenever I hear it, I can almost smell the pizza from the pizza place I used to play Shinobi at.

Definitely the original Magical Sound Shower, but I'm not so keen on the remix they did for Outrun 2.

Also Rastan's background music is very cool.
