TECH: Worth saving these to give away?
« on: July 17, 2004, 10:06:36 pm »
I have two computer monitors, in various shape. One was possibly working before I took it apart (stupid me) The other was in my joust machine, until it just flat out died. It had died and come back before, now it appears to have met it's maker. The screen statics up, but no light or picture. I think that comp monitors may be much harder to repair than arcade monitors, so are these worth saving to give away?
I'm in East Lansing, MI, for pick-up, btw.

You could mate the tubes and yokes to an 8liners chassis and have instant arcade monitor!

They work on computer monitor tubes?

If they were CGA types. There might be a Wei-ya chassis that's a VGA version that may work with VGA monitors.

This sounds like a wonderful idea... Both monitors originally had RGB Gray Black inputs. What else would I need to check to see if they are 8liners compatible? Also, where/how do I measure the impedence of the windings?
