D9200 HELP
« on: April 08, 2004, 11:06:48 pm »
I got my  D9200 earlier in the week and i just got a chance to take it out the box today. Firstly there is a black cable that runs around the fram of the monitor, its stripped on certain parts, can i just wrap it with some elctrical tape, what exactly is that, aslo there is no ac cord, how would i go about rigging one up.

If I recall correctly, my D9200 power cord was attached to the frame with nylon ties - Just cut them.

It should have a connector on the end that mates with a header on one of the boards.  If you got a cord with bare wire on the end it was likely a mistake.

I would call who you bought it from.

I bought it directly from well gardner, i think they are off today since i cant get anyone on the phone.  Do you know what that black cable that runs around the frame of the monitor is? How can i go about rigging up a ac card just to see if this thing works.

That cable that runs around your monitor is VERY important.  It's the degaussing cable.  DON'T mess with it.

Can you take a picture?  A 'shredded' cable just don't sound right.

Is there any sort of plastic connector on the 'shredded' end of it?

Not sure, its not really shredded more like stripped. It looks more like a cable that a wire.

It sure sounds to me like they sent you an incomplete cable or one that was meant to be hardwired.  Or maybe the connector got somehow caught and yanked off in transit.  Not sure anyone but W-G can help on this one.

I am just going to wrap it up with some electrical tape since it seems thats what came off.  Any idea on the power cord issue, can i just run a standard ac plug to it.

Two things: you can scale your image down with an image editor, and my email is in my profile.  However, if it's too big, Hotmail will bounce it too.

That last photo is the degaussing coil which should be wrapped in electrical tape if there's any exposed wires on it.
