How do I join the MyDoom without?

How can a conserned user help the MyDoom crowd by doing the DNS attack agains MS and SCO without installing the virus.

Now... I like many out there what to do my part to make the world a better place... But there MUST be a better way then installing the virus.

I would do it in an instance... but I realize that I'm behind a firewall... and it might not be able to get out... And also, I'm always a little worried that they might open a backdoor and find my naked photos I keep of my wife...  And I'm pretty sure she would be a bit ticked if they got out on the net... again...

So what should I do?  
Originize my own DNS attack?
How do I sync my time with others?

I don't know how it is getting to my personal address.  Only my friends and family and my paper resumes have that address.  For 3 years I have never had spam or a virus on my personal email until now

I promise, some of it will be donated to the MAMEDEV, promise, I swear, just step forward and everyone will be happy. By the time you get out, a 20GHZ CPU will be cheap and you can finally run Crusin World and other CPU huggers .

I've only gotten a single MyDoom virus email.  It's the only virus email I've received in the past like 2 or 3 years too.

Sorry about that Tom61, I now see how all the sender addresses can be spoofed from anyones address book. I even received a MyDOOM addressed from myself. I'll have to add myself to my email ignore list.

I've had THOUSANDS of copies bounce off my antivirus and spam filters on our corporate mail server... none got through, but just the stress of blocking and filtering all this mail is bringing my server to its knees...

You guys need to contact your isps.  Unlike congressman, they actually have to do something to get paid. I only got one copy of mydoom the very first hour or so it was out.  Immediately after that my isp starting blocking it at the server level and I haven't gotten one since.

Oh that is easy, one of your family, friends, or someone you once emailed is now infected, and it is getting to you that way.

Nope, for this address only friends and family use it, and they all have virus scanners (AVG to be exact) and keep it updated.   (Man, gotta love broadband and scheduled updates)

Well, Wine will run MyDoom just fine, so just get a spare computer, install linux on it, then Wine, and then install myDoom and run it.   Yes I have done this, though the machine was behind a stiff firewall so it couldn't do anything bad, and I was watching the actions it took.   (Wine has great debugging code built in)

And because this is a spare machine, you don't have to worry about them getting any of your protected information.
