I wasn't sure whether I should try to reach out to him or not but I suppose I probably should.
I do own the shirt and it's just about worn out so maybe time to order another (my favorite tshirt).
I've struggled forever to come up with a theme for my cabinet until yesterday when I looked down at my shirt and had a eureka moment.
Did you use it on an arcade project? Pics?
Fun fact, the original artist's name is Travis Pitts and he made this image for threadless (who partially owns the creative license for this graphic). I contacted him a while ago asking permission to use his image for a project, and he was really cool about it. Even told me a cool story about some people missing the pacman reference.
i don't have a problem with it at all. technically it is both my and threadless's property now, so as long as you don't use the image for profit, there is no legal problem.
i think it's awesome it's served as inspiration for you guys- it always amazes me how this shirt has struck chords in a whole range of people. it's also pretty funny how HALF of the people that liked it or bought it- i learned later- didn't even get the pacman reference!
they would be wearing the shirt in public and a stranger would point and say '-aw cool- pac man!' or something and then it would dawn on the wearer-- who before then had just liked it because it reminded them of old EC comics.
please give inspirational credit to me and or link to zom-bot.com in some footnote or liner note form if you end up doing something with your project, i'd appreciate it, and until then keep me upadated with what you guys are doing!- and any links to your other stuff or progress on the project.
