I haven't even downloaded it yet.  Do you think it's because the muggles aren't as exposed to Pokemon as we are or something?  I mean I read the specs on the game... other than the augmented reality bit, nothing special imho.

My 20 something adult kids love it. As my son-in-law stated, he's been waiting to play this game since he was 8.

Never got into Pokemon when I was younger, cant get into it now. I loaded the game, and got bored about 3 minutes in.

I got half my department into it.  Not much in my area, but my wife walked around her campus for a couple of hours and got up to level 9.

Thankfully, the closest thing in my neighborhood is two blocks over - the zombie hoards of Pokemon Go players are skipping my cul de sac.  I've got three churches within a mile that are getting a ton of activity at night - one of them barricaded their parking lot.  :lol

Anyway, there's not much "game" there at the moment, but it has been fun.  I've been surprised at how little actual interaction there is between players at the various Pokestops and gyms.

Nice taste in flip flops, Yot, and good job on the toe nails.

Thanks for the metrosexual compliments, James.

It was funny,  seeing these roving bands of kids and solitary adults walking around Seaport Village. The shops had just closed but there were tons of people still there.  One enterprising dude was hawking beanie caps with Team Valor and whatever other team logos to the players.

Considering it's at version 0.4, I'm not surprised at the lack of "game".  I'm enjoying it so far though.  Playing with my kids.  We walked around a couple parks and the mall as a family - first time in a while.  My son made a joke about "Roving Nerd Packs", which we thought would be an AWESOME band name.

I have a pair of hand made sandals that ran me about $250.  Those were the most comfortable shoes I've owned.

My $35 Reef flip flops are damned close.

Headed to University of Houston tonight to collect Pokemon.  Apparently I'm a member of the roving nerd hoard.

My Quicksilver flip flops were about $12. My Kaneda flip flops are some Cuban name brand ones and were about the same.

Why Pokémon Go sucks....

1) There is no strategy
2)  Battles are dumb and serve no purpose
3) The power up and evolution system is flawed making it too difficult to raise rare Pokémon.
4) Pokémon that should be rare are common and those that should be common are rare.
5) Like seriously there are no Fire or Rock or electric types but i can catch safari zone exclusives at will WTF?!?!?!
6) I can't stop playing it.

Walked around Univeristy of Houston.  Despite constant crashes and lock ups, I caught 70 Pokemon in two hours.

One spot on campus has four pokestops that overlap one sidewalk next to a pond.  Students and employees had thrown lures on all of them.  It was a magikarp bloodbath.

Wandered to the campus coffee shop and drank craft beers as my phone battery slowly faded to oblivion.  Rest easy, rattata hoard.

Super jealous you only need a bazillion magikarp candies to gyrados but don't worry, there are no Fire types to use it on anyway...

Yeah, no Nintendo copyright is a dead give away. LCDs arent too bad, when you use a SLG with them. My mom loves her mini mspacman.

So my chuff for the month.  Just picked up my first dedicated cab.  Asteroids Deluxe Cabaret!  My daughter fell in love with this at Zapcon, so I bought it.

Vector monitor seems to need some adjustment after being moved to my house.  All the asteroids have a pinpoint in their centers and there are faint lines connecting everything on the screen.  I'm hoping it's just an adjustment...

I'm on the razors edge between chuff and naff.  Got a line on a guy with a mess of oldies, has a Monaco GP tucked into the lot but isn't wanting to split up the lot.  Lot isn't interesting enough to justify for just the Monaco and I'm trying to convince him to split it off.  If I can walk with a MGP I'm chuffed to the xtreme.  If I can't I'm only out so whiny texts but still naffed at the missed opportunity.

The bank is sending me back to Denver on the 26th, any good Pokémon near the Tech center?

Pokemon go is layered over ingress.  Go to ingress.com/Intel. Each point of Interest has matched from Ingress to Pokemon go. You won't be able to tell what is going to be poke  stop or what is going to be a gym, but it will give you an idea of the locations. You will need to register in order to do this.

Houston has a Google map with all the Pokemon Go stops.  I used it to find a park five miles away that had two areas of three overlapping pokestops.  90 pokemon were caught in 2 hours.  :D

Also found a bench near my building that has three overlapping stops.

Pictured, the only thing that gets my pulse up these days:
