concept project code named "Déjà vu"
« on: November 26, 2015, 12:01:42 pm »
I started this post the other day but it messed up when i went to post it.

Starting i would like to thank members of the forum for if not for them i wouldn't of had the idea. So thanks be to you Vigo, DrChek, 404, Delusional, and Slappyhooper.

This is my clone idea of DrChek's "The Spike" which is a clone of Vigo's "Vigolix" so its kinda like inception.

I did have the idea to build two vigolix and place them back to back and still use one pc in the middle but then this i feel takes up more square footage in size than the side by side.

This is a really simple idea take the Vigolix and and another next to it. now you have side by side or tournament play on a Vigolix. This concept is a WIP and my issue right now is trying to decide if i want to have the monitor in the higher position like Slappyhopper did with his "The Redline or if i just want to put the monitor right above the CP. If i did put the monitor in the higher postion i could still put the CP right under it as this would make the top of the CP. The same height as my PC desk.

The benefits of this design (IMO) is that it still retains the overall idea Vigo had with the Vigolix as it is still cheap to build. It is using one pc running two monitors so games with two monitors can be played side by side. Like every playchoice-10 game and punch out. the Left screen can be the main game field and the other is the choice screen for playchoice-10 or the status screen for punch out. I know i could simply stretch the width of the Vigolix to make it wide enough for two players(working on an up scale version) but i felt this is more along the lines of the original idea.  I attached a 2d image of it currently. I have the sketchup file if anyone wants it but it was too big to post to the forum post.

Any suggestions and comments are welcome. anything i should change or scrap the whole thing?

I think the monitor in the higher position looks better.

to me, the side to side thing looks a little odd but it may just be because you show one with the monitor low and one high.

have you thought about the possibility of having the two angled to each other like a v?

similar to Nepths two  headed beast

Yea i thought of the V formation but this way takes up less over all floor space think of it as a 2x1 rectangle compared to a 4x4 square.

Maybe it's just me. Maybe it'll look better with them both at the same height.
I wonder though if it would just look better to just do a wider version of the cab
