Anyone working on any video games?
« on: October 20, 2015, 07:52:01 pm »
I have a few in the orks. One is a arcade basketball type game where you try to throw the most hoops in 2 minutes with the trackball. Another is similar to that one and my ramp and roll game except it's lawn darts. They are all very similar and although I didn't share any code between them (to force myself to actually learn to code better - and the only way to do that is to sling code) they have very similar mechanics. A third game I'm working on is a zombie lightgun shooter game. I am nearly done all the coding and the first level, and a friend of mine who moved to Japan is making more levels.

I also started working on a new demo of a game, for consoles I hope. I am going to put together a demo and see if it sparks enough interest to get others to help me. It's a silent hill style game. But think more SH 1 or 2, and not Downpour or anything. I figure since I don't have the skills to work on AAA graphics I can put more effort into the story. If the demo is good enough I'll be again looking for mostly 3d artists to make backgrounds and texture artists. Because really, once the GUI and character control is in place that doesn't leave a whole lot left but story and audio.

Today I took a bunch of reference photos from both front and side to help me animate the player character. It was lots of fun. Hopefully the animations will be much smoother than my previous attempts where I've just started doing it off the cuff.
