Slot Machine Table
« on: August 26, 2015, 08:28:47 am »
Been a while since I started a new thread. Well here goes. After my kids and I played a slot machine at a friend's house I decided to pick up one. Found some on Craigslist for pretty cheap.
But these things are heavy (around 85-90 lbs each). I dug up an old oval table I had laying around but it took up too much space and could only fit 2 machines. The goal was to build a slim table that could hold up all the slot machines with some storage at the bottom. First time attempting sliding doors, glad it worked out.  :blah: :blah: :blah:
Here are the pics. First is a pic of the old table, followed by the new one. It measures just shy of 8 feet.
I used 2x4s, with maple plywood for both shelves. Still have to add the end piece on the right side, the wood is extra from another project I'm working on. Shelf pieces have been cut, just need to screw them in.
(Can't believe this is better than my workbench in the garage   :banghead:

Just a quick follow up. Table has been painted, door knobs added and chrome cup holders have been installed.
I say about 95% finished.
Still left to do is the side panels and a little paint touch-up.
Here's some pics of where I am currently.
