Feedback on CPO (Joust)
« on: August 18, 2015, 07:36:39 pm »
I'm working on a CPO for a project.
I've never done a CPO where I did not have a template to follow.
I'm very nervous.

I think in the end the CPO could be cut, and drilled out to the specifics of the design. However, how do I know the design feels good ?
I find this quite daunting a task to be honest.

Even lining up player 1 and player 2.

Should they be an equal distance from the middle, or should the pods be an equal distance from either side ?

Any advice and feedback is welcome.

Thank you

Some revisions to the artwork.
And the marquee to go along with the CPO.

I like the version with the bevel/embossed detailing.  I later changed the grain texture (not shown) to have more black in it. Really makes the grain texture pop.
I'm quite happy with that.

I think for best results once finalized the art will need to be printed to scale and  tested for fit.

Any and all feedback welcome. Thanks

A Joust logo ? Meaning a knight on an ostrich, or the text based logo ?
I'm doing this for a customer who likes the Old English style font to be honest.

I drew this for sideart, I used the pen tool, but set the brush to pencil.
I'm still learning to draw in Photoshop.
It was my understanding that despite the pencil looking "jagged" (for lack of a better word) up close, when printed it is actually quite smooth looking.
I certainly hope that is the case, as this is going to be printed in a rather large size.

*** I've added some shots showing the progression of the artwork ***

Another alternate X-Men Universe where cyclops rides his mighty bird steed into battle!

No really though it looks good. The only thing I can say is this guy is battling likely to the death and seems pretty snmiley about it.

Thanks guys appreciate it.
I'm new to drawing in Photoshop, and in general my drawing has declined a ton over the years.
I want every customer to be happy and this task was kind of intimidating.
But some great minds (and artists) here, so the feedback is massively important.

Thanks all
