Pixelkabinett 42 - A journey through time
« on: May 11, 2015, 03:43:00 pm »
Hi guys

Though I'd share my latest arcade, and my first full-size cabinet. It's a little bit out of the box and might not be for everyone, but...

It's a coin-op cabinet for two, inspired by old industrial cabinets, vintage consoles and early space travels. The retro futuristic body stands on four rocket nozzle like feet and is decorated by a glowing planetarium on the front and an engraved saturn speaker grill. The folding top keep dust away when not in use. Joysticks are Servostiks with electric 4-to-8-way switch.

It's built for a friend's tattoo studio in Sweden, and has an built-in 19-in-1 jamma board + a mini MAME setup.

This was the inspiration picture that helped me get the overall concept

Only WIP pictures I have I'm afraid

Pictures of the final cabinet

Hope you like it!

I like it cuz it's different. Some fine crafting there too.

It also reminds me of a Midnight Chew.

LOVE the idea of the folding top! Guessing it's flat on top so you could use it for a surface to place......whatever on top! Clever!

Yes, it's a flat top when folded... Meaning you could put another cade on top... doublecading!!!
