I think "Kombat Bartop" is a little.... plain.

so I came up with this:

Recolored the UMK3 skulls orange and red, did an MK3 style font with marble texture, gradient red and yellow stroke, and a soft white outer glow.

CO has gotten easier to use, there are builds called massive so you don't have to fool with anything.  Just upload to box and be done with it.  More games added more cores updated, and the speed and game compatability is better.  There is even mouse support now for trackballs games.

It's vision/premium thats a PITA to fool with, but coinops is pretty solid and easy to add to, just more video and marquee folders added for the folks that like to have like 13,000 games

Interesting the one on 423? I pass that everyday going to work. Hate the traffic in that area.

I will indeed at least update the background on CoinOPS, Tonight though I'm ordering the last few parts - Component to VGA, Speaker Amp and plexi off eBay more than likely.

 Once I find out about the quote on vinyl print ill probably act on that depending on which is more affordable vs gameongraphix

Heads up on that Kinter amp, I've ordered one in the past and it's cheap but doesn't come with a power supply. See the comments on Amazon.

True, the Kinter is about $10 cheaper all told with the psu but the Lepai has a little more power. Either one would be fine, just don't order the Kinter and not a power supply, pain in the a**.

I agree with you there. I would buy the Lepai myself if the price was a bit closer, but I'm not using these machines for jukeboxes. It's more than adequate for a bar top.

I've built a few bartops and as you know you are limited with space, and that bulky case cant be mounted.  However you can pull the board out of that case as use it like that.  I have had a few ground issues with that brand, the one i linked you too has a nice 720p res with no ground noise lines.  I like using just the boards as you can use pcb feet tp mount it nicely inside of the bartop.

The amp you chose is the kinter amp, look at the name on the top.....

Heads up on that Kinter amp, I've ordered one in the past and it's cheap but doesn't come with a power supply. See the comments on Amazon.

I bought a Lepai once and it had a nasty hum, i've bought tons of kinters and had no problem.  My question to you is for a bartop, what good does a power supply do ya, where ya gonna plug it in?  All you need is these 2 items here.

If he's running power to it and space is of concern then the DROK mini amps are small, cheap and work well too, no bass/treble controls though.

Ah, ok i'm following you now, i was just offering a different solution to the power problem.  I agree its not devoid, however i've had no room for strips in my builds, cause i like to attach everything to the bartop and not just lay it in there. I also use relays to delay the sound and video, to bypass the Xbox intro part, so plugs just get in the way.  I only softmod, and have no idea how to modify the bios to make it disappear.   I guess i just had a bad Lepai, but aren't those a bit bigger than than the Kinters.

This VGA converter should work too (has only one VGA output as opposed to the two above which is overkill) and composite inputs for the Xbox.  I've ordered from this seller before.  It comes relatively quickly considering it's coming from China.  Comes with power cable as well (you can connect this to +5v (red wire on molex) on the Xbox power supply. $21 shipped.

Yeah that's the same one i was referring to, some come with dual ports, however out of the U.S. the price is pretty much the same.

You are right though the ones from overseas work well are are cheaper if your willing to wait it.

What a week.

So I got in the feet for boards, apparently someone stole my Kinter amp so I called Amazon and they put in a research ticket and hopefully will work on getting me a credit.

Last night though I had everything connected VGA adapter running off molex and everything looked great unfortunately I do not have pictures because I was so stressed with what happened next.

I moved it to another room and then went to power nothing happend.  Everything was secured and nothing that I saw could have created a short. I took out the PSU and Mobo and looked over everything no broken solder joints no burnt traces no capacitor issues. Test the psu and it works fine.

Mobo will do nothing though  so now I am lost. 

I think I will keep the same setup but get rid of the box and move over to ordering a raspberry pi model 2 this next week or two.

Just wanted to give an update its not dead but defiantly on a temporary halt.

Quick question does anyone have experiance with the pi2 and MK running on Mame through retropie? Speed/Sound issue?

Might have to take you up on that offer sometime, any experience with xbox mobo? Definitely wouldn't mind the help sometime. Also I cant find my meter in the garage so I dont know if it may actually be the power supply any tricks to know which one? I press power it does nothing on the power supply when it plugged in after I remove the cord I can hear it "discharge" like normal

Pi2 seems to run most games I like and flashing retro pie it seems fairly simple and only thing it looks like I might have to do is a usb powered hub to run two kades, just a thought if I don't figure this out sometime within next week or so I might , any bad experiences or something with their latest build?

I found a xbox $10 local I'm going to pick up hopefully that will work

Art work came in looks great Ill post some pictures soon. 

Sad note the cheap xbox on flea bay for $19 that said was just a DVD drive problem wasnt the only issue. I took everything apart and seems some did a failed tsop mod. Anyhow I fixed the DVD drive just adjusted lense.  I wanted to tsop so I could just swap drives since I don't have an extra xbox or molex to hotswap.

Regardless today I was excited about art work so I am updating coin ups and will use the stock 8gb I can put the games I want with the locks off.

If there a solder wizard nearby dallas I welcome you to try to fix this persons bad tsop attempt. Egh. Lol pics soon
