Okay no problemo

1.0 Wont boot (original that just randomly stopped working)

Mobo

PSU

2nd console is a 1.2 (Was going to do a TSOP until I opened it up an saw this was done by previous owner  ::) -  it boots fine. Im currently FTP'ing Coinops 6 lite running a softmod on it.

Ive done several consoles and installed chips on the xbox even the enigma. if you can find any docs on that, lol.

But in all honesty I dont even want to try to fix that tsop.

I dont know if they laid down an iron on it that was super high wattage or what?  :dizzy: Amazingly though it has a factory TSOP bios on it so either they put it back to stock and ripped out wires or something.

Any ideas on the 1.0?

not offhand, i'd have to take a peek and tinker with it, if its just dead, i would look at psu first.  Its a 1.0 so that box is fairly old and the PSU's normally blip out first without warning.

Maybe try bridging the alternate pins with wire for the TSOP?

Enigma eh?  Heres some OLD pix of my first ever XBOX modchip install:

Lookin forward to the install pix of the art, looks like you have a pretty good camera!

You could try a conductive pen to try to bridge the TSOP points.

Woah! Nice install on that 21 wire all green wires would drive me crazy lol! Ill have to see if I can dig mine up or find a cached version on xbox-scene.

Heres some of the control panel the pictures dont do a justice and looks a little washed and shows a white line thats not there. (camera is my Galaxy Note 4 off my phone)

I like it, Thanks for the help on the artwork Malenko.

I do not have a conductive pen, I thought about using a fiberglass pen I have and running it off the trace there was a few attempts it seems at alternate locations as well unfortunately. For now I'm fine with it being a softmod.

When I get some more time I might fix it though.

Yeah I may just buy a extra power supply off fleabay it has an adapter for 1.0 to 1.6 , I need to find me some chips with cromwell bios on them as well for a future project, double memory maybe.

conductive pens can be found at your local radio shack, they seem to have went down in price since i last bought one they are only 12.00 vs 20.00.

Yeah i would hit up the electronics goodwill in downtown dallas, you can get working xboxes with sticks and all for 20.00.

IMHO, i use softmods only and have no issues, i dont fool with the bios, and the list of lockable drives is infinite and you can get 160gb drives for 10-12 bucks off ebay, which is plenty for coinops massive builds and premium.

you seem to be versed in the xbox lingo, so i'm sure you will get it up and running like you want eventually.  keep up the good work though, let me know if you need anything, i have all sorts of goodies for xbox bartop builds......

i got some nice 3" speakers and grills, 3 prong plugs, a couple HD xbox video plugs, electrical outlets with LED, etc....

your local, so i may be able to help you out if you need it.......

There's a guy in Quebec developing a new modchip for the xbox , he has a thread over at assembler games in case you're interested.

Well I thought I would update you guys since its been awhile, Unfortunately between a ton of things going on at work and mom getting sick I haven't had alot of free time but here is a picture of it up and running.

Still need to figure out the following
A Marquee light (something like the led ones maybe, Any suggestions? )
Throw on the Plexi and Marquee
Split the monitor into the xbox power supply somehow (Can I just splice the power cable or think thats a bad idea?)

Also I found a 12v power supply for kinter and I was thinking of just cutting the cord and using the molex power, Dumb question but since the cables are same color how would I know -,+.

Looks neat! I miss my old chipped boxes and multibios

I have some cheap china xbox 720p cables but they seem to be picking up noise sometimes in the image but with limited space I dont know how to fix that?

Also any suggestions on getting the Monitor and xbox power cord connected together?

Marquee lighting 12v

Cut the cables and just tie into a euro strip, 110 in and 110 out to monitor and xbox.  If your gonna use the strip get you some ferrules(bottom photo)

If you decased the xbox that noise is because you didnt ground the metal prongs on the video input on the xbox.  There are 2 little pieces of metal with a dimple, one on each side of the xbox, solder a wire to each and connect that to ground.  Most folks don't know the when you put the top case on, the metal in the top part touches these metal pieces which grounds the video.

On the Marquee lighting I was thinking this one like in your picture correct?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-5m-SMD-3528-White-Light-Epoxy-Waterproof-300-LED-Roll-Felxible-Light-Strip-/391182540884?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5b144be054

The Xbox is decased are these the points you are referring to?

Euro strip - I personally don't have any experience can you draw something simple to show how I would wire a 3 prong monitor cable and the xbox 2 prong into a eurostrip if you don't mind? sorry just trying to figure it out.

yep those are the correct lights.

yes that's the ground video points, you see how they touch the metal casing, it helps to eliminate the noise in the video.

3 prong white black green on one side (110v source)
3 prong white black green to monitor on the other side
Jump white black from 110v like photo, then attach white/black to xbox.

done....make sure you use the appropriate gauge wire to jump.

Update!
98% done I just need to do some touch up and redo the marquee. I had to put it on hold due to some great news. I'm going to be a dad  ;D

Sorry for the LQ pic I'll post more later

I will say the fit of this was hard to do obviously my next will be better. I'm just glad to have made this progress. Hopefully I'll be back when I get more time between being a dad and everything else. Im debating a full size tmnt style or another bartop.

Thanks definitely you were a help, still like the control panel artwork the most. Rablack97 helped with ground issue too and a ton of other people too.

Here's another picture should have loaded MK up. Need to fix the bezel and I'll take more pictures .
