Custom MAME front end - where to start?
« on: March 11, 2015, 09:06:20 pm »
I'm looking for someone to use existing source for a front end to create a version to do specific things for a) preview/screensaver and b) transition from preview to a short list of games. Time to completion is short.

Please respond here or send me a message if you're capable and interested.
Can anyone point me to a better place to ask this question?

Thanks,
John

Almost every already existing front end can do that. I don't understand? :dunno

I am currently enjoying and recommending http://attractmode.org. I'm not sure if http://retrofe.com/ has a screensaver yet, but you might want to give that a check as well. Both are relatively new, cross platform, currently active and well built front ends.

I don't have the time to research the front ends to determine which will work, and then do the configuration to create the solution.

More specifically, I'm working on a kiosk-type installation and looking for a single preview image/animation that is displayed until a button is pressed. Then a preview image or animation is displayed (not game related) followed by a list of game to select from. On game completion, the kiosk returns to the preview image.

would prefer running on a RaspPI-2 or andriod  device.

Let me get this straight.  You don't have time to browse the existing programs that do what you want, so you want to pay, I assume, someone to create something from scratch?  I get the feeling you have no clue what you are asking.   Good luck with that.

Just make sure your arrangement is $/line of code.  Best way to get quality work.
