Bartop on the wall
« on: February 22, 2015, 02:08:41 pm »
Hi guys, a new project is born !!
The  project born with the intent to to reduce the space occupied from previous bartop with base builded two years ago but with the same possibility to play in two players and with a trackball added in a maximum depth of 33 cm from wall

Old Bartop ->

Maybe some pictures and a render video are better than many words

New Design ->

.... waiting your opinions ....

Have you stood next to wall to try and gauge how it will feel?

You might want to take a look at robotron 2084's collection of this type of build ( http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,141265.0.html ) He's done several and you might find some good ideas there.

wallside imo

So once again, we find that evil of the past seeps into the present like salad dressing through cheap wax paper, mixing memory and desire.

Maybe i'll build a carton model before the definitive one....

Added some pictures with a 3d simulation
In the last one, a particular of the openable panel with pc and hard disk, that one time opened, I can easy change some component.

After this i'll prepare the file for CNC cut.

I'm waiting for CNC cutting and meantime i'm working on artwork.
The cab will be positioned in bedroom of my son (basket fan) so the theme will be NAB JAM...
At the moment it's only a preview, there are some particulars to adjust....

You can see a high details preview here

or a low-res preview below

My only suggestion would be to ditch the Midway logo and customize it. Put in your family name, your arcade name, etc.

Obviously it's personal preference, but I always like to add some tweak to the artwork in some small way.

Not a basketball fan may self but it is looking really nice.

I really want to try a wall mount one day. Have you tried making a mock up of the CP to see if there is enough room?

It would be really cool if you used basketball like upholstery/vinyl. Need that basketball texture. ;)

Design looks great.
I think the wall mount idea is a good one.
