Somtimes I get board.
« on: January 28, 2015, 08:00:33 pm »
I always wanted a portable machine for parties and things of that nature.

The mammoth pedestal I have at home is movable but not without a pickup and a drinking buddy to help load it.

This is kinda what I was thinking about doing. Probably not going to make it battery operated tho.

I pulled that from ZAGG at http://www.instructables.com/id/Portable-Raspberry-Pi-Emulation-Machine/

So far I got a basic parts list. All found on Amazon.

Winstar USB3.0 4 port hub+1 Charging port With 12V/2A Power Adapter ------------------$9.97

URBEST®Inlet Module Plug Fuse Switch-------------------------------------------------------------$5.99

E-Goal 12V 5A 60W DC Switch Power Supply-------------------------------------------------------$9.99

Tontec® 10 Inches High Resolution 1280x800 Raspberry Pi Screen Display-----------------$78.98

Pelican 1200 Case with Foam for Camera (Black)--------------------------------------------------$34.05

Buffalo Classic USB Gamepad for PC------------------------------------------------------------------$12.48

CanaKit Raspberry Pi B+ Complete Starter Kit------------------------------------------------------$54.95

+1 to the winbook tablet.

Just make sure the thing isn't anywhere that the screen might flex -- I busted the screen on my 8" from just carrying it in my back pocket.

Problem is I already have a few Pi's that I ordered a while back.

Plus I don't think it would satisfy my tinkering habit to strait forward.

I might pick one up anyways to check out, could be a good mini arcade for relatives.

Thanks for the heads up.

Ooh, makin' love.
Makin' love for...
Makin' love for two...
Makin' love for two...minutes.
When it's with me, girl, you only need two minutes, because I'm so intense. You say something like, "Is that it?" I know what you're trying to say. You're trying to say, "Aww yeah, that's it." Then you tell me you want some more. Well, I'm not surprised. But I'm quite sleepy.

No worries I can't be dissuaded from posting, just from a bit of poking fun at my ineptitude at spelling.

Wait until I get a few micro brews in me.

So I'm looking for a headphone jack that I can run the 12v dc through a normally closed switch and it has to be panel mount.

I've found a bunch of 1/4" but having a hard time finding the smaller headphone style.

Any ideas?

First attempt at bezel. Not the fondest of milling plastic.

Second bezel turned out a lot better than the first.

Probably paint it black so you can't see all the guts.

Ordered a 12v power supply but I think they put it on a boat from china so another month of waiting for parts.

Was thinking about overclocking and trying PSX games on it. Going to need a new controller.
