photoshop friends?
« on: December 22, 2014, 01:38:26 am »
hi guys,

i just added nintendo ds to my machine and am in need of a menu background but i lack any artistic skills.  anyone willing to do one for me?  it would be super simple i think.  basically, i just need the below image changed so there is a pic of a DS.  I do have a higher resolution of the below if anyone is willing to help out.

thanks all

Best bet would be to upload the high res image (either here in a zip package - or to dropbox or similar and post a link) -that way someone with the time can download and make the adjustment rather than having to contact you and get a response by which time the spare time may be gone ! (also DO you know what font is being used in the others or will something close work - the more detail you can provide the better)

Here's a quick concept pic using the image you posted so very low res. so didn't put in much time on it. - If something like that would work post the high res image and I'll check back later and put something together ( if someone else hasn't done it for you by the time I check back )

And DS version :

solid work as always JD, but why not use a DSLite instead of a Phat?

At 4 AM pretty much the first pic that came up was the one that was getting used  :laugh2: - The dog was barking at something and woke me up and couldn't get back to sleep right away so had checked the Forum and figured why not put a quick example together. If he wants a different model just needs to include that as part of the Details when posting the higher res image for the actual work.

EDIT : You mean one of these instead :

Man I love this board, thank you very much for the quick stab and the advice.

I am attaching all of my nintendo folders that you can see what i am using and i will leave it to any kind user to use your best judgement on what it should look like to fit in with the others.  there are 4 different pieces for each console:

main.jpg - what i am most interested in.  the other files are simply pop ups with borders to match the main file.

as for font, the person who created these used the console logo which would be awesome.  But, I certainly won't be picky.

I am running at 1024 x 768 but can resize the image if need be.  please, if you have any questions, let me know and i sincerely appreciate any help.

thanks, tony

what do DS games look like on your cab?  Is the lack of a lower touch screen an issue? How do you sub in the touch? Mouse?

OK here's a .jpg with the DS (made a few changes to the background to get rid of the Wii Text and Outline) but it should work also used the Pretendo Font since it is close to the original Nintendo font -- If you need any adjustments made to it let me know and I'll see what I can do. (left it at 1024x768 since you said that is what you were using )

EDIT : Reread you post and did a 2nd version using the Nintendo ds logo (I think it looks better ) - 2nd version is attached also !

No problem - as you said it was a fairly easy one. Let me know if it needs any adjustments ( ie. larger or smaller blue outside glow around the text or pic ) or you run into any problems once you get it loaded.
