Global VR Madden to Mame/Pc 4 Player aka "Voltron" On Hold til further notice

I have a bunch of projects that I have started that dont have build threads. But thanks to yotsuya, I plan on changing that. I have done like 4 or 5 revisions of my horizontal mame/pc cab. Hopefully, this will be the last!


So I scored this cool looking cab for the price of FREE! 

It had a fully populated control panel, but the pc and monitor were taken out. So the plan is 4 player, 1 and 2 eight buttons each, 3 and 4 four buttons each. Now the reason I am going eight for 1 and 2, the cab will also be sporting a xbox 360. I managed to get a really good deal on 34 classic RGB buttons. For joys, I am thinking about using paradise arcade's RGB stick. I haven't decided if I am going with a trackball or not. The only things I have done to the cab so far are, installed my samsung 27" led monitor, Logitech speakers and put casters under it. Colors, pretty simple, black and white. Already have 40 ft of white t-molding. Here are a few pics. Comments welcome!!

If the theme works with the design of the cab, this could be cool looking.

Haven"t really nailed down a theme yet, maybe some kind of space theme of some sort. The cab will be all black, other then the marquee, t-molding, coin door frame and the eject and coin return bezels. They will all be white. Im going to get a couple white Hyperspin stickers made up to replace the Global VR ones.

My son has a dedicated Madden.  When we brought it home I kept thinking that a dead one would be a great Mame candidate.  I'm anxious to see how this turns out.

Are you going to keep the "tournament" sign?

I dont plan on keeping the sign. Even if I wanted to, the false ceiling hangs to low to tip it up.

I love that cab, it inspired some of what I did on my Notre Dame build.  I think the Voltron theme will be the cats ass on a four player.  Can't wait to see it.

the art is almost done.  The button layout is squared away, most of the CPO art is done, and the marquee is done.  Side art is TBD

Use the fifth color for a trackball and/or the common-to-all-players admin buttons like pause and exit.

There is no trackball, and the art is already done.  This idea is kinda close to the final art, but its up to the OP to show you the art, no spoilers from me.

Thanks guys, my dad has Alzheimer. He got to the point where my mom cant take care of him anymore. Nursing home care is 6,000 a month for my dad. On top of that, last summer he had to have a surgery that left them pretty broke. Us kids are kicking in what we can. But from my understanding, if my parents cant afford the bill, the state will take are farm, and sell it to pay for his bills. So money for me is kinda tight too. I have all the parts I need. I still need to pay for the artwork, and the printing of said artwork. So Im not sure when I will get back to this. But I am still here, lurking around and reading and replying to new posts. So, thanks again guys for the support, really means a lot to me
