You leave Depeche Mode out of this.  They've actually had some decent songs in the last 20 years.

Every 10 years I think I remember how awesome they were.
Then I listen to two or three songs, skipping to the next one halfway through because I tire of the song before it's over.
Then I don't bother for another 10 years.
The first time it happened I went out and re-bought Violator.  That lasted about 5 minutes before buyer's remorse kicked in.
I think I'll go revisit on Rhapsody right now.  Good thing I have a fresh coffee to keep me from dozing off.

Violator was their last good album. Music for the Masses was even better!

  :applaud:

I liked some of the songs on Ultra, Dream On was a good one on Exciter.

Delta Machine... I don't know how I feel about it.  Okay but nothing really grabbed me.

I have never beaten a Metroid game.

I finally beat it on my GBA a few years back...looong overdue.

Madden is too complicated for me now.  :dunno

I actually went on the internet a few years ago to memorize Pac Man patterns.

I find that most games on modern consoles are too complicated for me now, or more accurately, have too high of a learning curve for me to want to bother.  I get some free time and I want to play some games, not sit there and spend 3 hours figuring out how to make Solid Snake move.

Back in '90, a friend of mine showed me a game he had gotten off a BB for his Commodore 64 (actually, a friend of his got it for him, because none of uu could afford a modem). It was a German game called "Party Girls".

Commodore 64 Strip Poker.....

I also have to add to the list...15 years ago when I was working a call center that received very few calls I amused myself by working on a spreadsheet where I was trying to list my favorite game that started with the letter A, then B, then C, etc.  My top 26 favorite games by alphabet.  Yup, I'm a nerd.

I also have video game OCD.  I have to see everything in the game.  Games like the Diablo series, I can't grind, I need to reveal all of the fog on each and every map I enter, every time.  RPGs, good lord, I love them but I have to try every side quest, open every door.  It is insanity.

Lastly, this is my favorite game right now, running in Survivor mode:

I replay CSOTN every so often and will grind for every item and every bit of map. Love that one.

I have a library of, quite literally, thousands of games.

Lately all I play is Just Cause 2.  I'm somehow convinced that I can 100% this thing.  I'm sure I'll be proven wrong.

That game is a blast and easy to get addicted to. So much fun finding new ways to cause chaos.

Just picked up on this thread. Prepare for many confessions...

I don't get donkey Kong

My favourite arcade game ever is Robocop and I've played it 100s of times but I've never got past the level with the lasers and rage quit every time

I don't get call of duty

I still get excited when I see parallax scrolling or sprite zooming

I think buggy boy is 100x better than outrun

I think pacmania is better than Pac man. And ms Pac man. And definately pacland.

I don't get mortal kombat. Even the misspelling of combat is ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---

I think the Commodore 64 was the best machine ever made

Sometimes I just stick my cab in attract mode , have a beer and watch it.

I think Stargate on the 2600 is better than the arcade.

I've been playing video games for 30 years and never got the high score thing until I played Pooyan yesterday. (Score not even worth posting but now I get it!)

Phew! Now I feel better.

When I tell people about my hobby I used to get embarrassed because they thought it was geeky or some ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. Now when people ask what I do for fun and I tell them about my BYOAC habits I attack them if they say anything snide since most people never get their fat ass off the couch and can't do a tenth of the electronics and wood working we do on here.

Oh your hobby is watching a tv show about zombies? Wow. That's really interesting...tell me more about how that's working out for you, being a potato.

I have the saddest confession...
I once took my Snes and n64 with all of my games and controllers to game stop and traded for some ps2 games..
Biggest mistake of my life(and I once got an std)

Snes is the best console of all time.

I agree. I have no problem emulating them. Plus with safe states I can beat games that were once impossible.

In the early 90s I hated rpgs. Especially chrono trigger. Probably because I was 7 and my brother always played it.
Now chrono trigger is my favorite game of all time and I play through it once a year and still have not got all the endings.

I traded in my Sega Saturn and 41 games to get an N64 with Mario64 and Pilot Wings64. Games I traded in included Dragon Force, Bomberman, Legend of Oasis, and Guardian Heroes.

It took some time, but I eventually bought all the Saturn stuff again, it would have been much cheaper to buy N64 stuff :(

I sold my NES to buy a Mega Drive, sold that to buy a Saturn, sold that to buy a Dreamcast+GameCube, sold those to buy ... I can't even remember what I sold those. Now I wish I never sold anything, especially my Saturn, as I miss that one the most :'(
