Monitor bezel options and mounting
« on: August 19, 2014, 03:45:14 pm »
Hi all
I'm trying to work out the best way forward with my monitor bezel.   I have a 19" LCD mounted centrally in a 26" square space.   I was planning to buy some 4mm perspex / plexi and spay it black around the monitor.   However I'm now thinking of adding artwork instead and wondered what the common approach was.   Should I get the art printed on a adhesive Vinyl and stick to the front of the glass (simple) ?  Or would you sandwich a printed sheet (possibly backlit too)  between 2 X 2mm plexi sheets not sure how that would look/work? I've also seen a print option where it can be stuck on the inside of the glass.

I created a bezel from Hardboard which is about 2mm Thick which I planned to add artwork to but went with plain carbon fibre and then 3mm glass in front of that.
But proabably the easiest method would be to get the art reverse printed and then stuck to the inside of the glass.

See the following threads which use reverse printed art.
