Was in PCB last weekend and had a four foot reef shark come up into the shallows out by Shell Island to inspect my 6 yr old who was boogie boarding and myself.  Really neat encounter and didn't require me to turn the little ---smurf--- inside out by the gills so a win win for everyone really.  That and I got to pet a dolphin.  Yay!

Sharks in general are fairly gentle creatures in terms of human interaction.  The only problem is many species can only identify foreign objects via taste.  So you might get a "love bite."
