Star Wars
« on: June 11, 2014, 12:16:30 pm »
Does anyone know where I can get some high quality Star Wars art or have some they are willing to share? It doesn't necessarily have to be the original looking arcade art work, although it would be nice. My thought to do a bit a Star Wars theme on one of my control panels. I know that Mikonos did some from this thread, but I don't think he shares his work:

Some nice space craft (tie and x-wing) and the death star would probably be enough to get me going. Something like this:

Thanks!

Not only does Mikonos not share his artwork, but he's also been banned from multiple arcade forums. Avoid like the plague.

Hehe, thanks. Yeah, that was my plan anyway. ;D

From time to time there is a  set of side art on a weekend clearance on ebay.  Around $100

I had an idea to use the left side of the cockpit art, where Vader is standing with his light saber on the left.  On the right side I would use the right side artwork from the upright machine.

I encourage you to go as custom as you want, unless you are using the vector monitor, then a person might have a reason to go all original.

Look forward to watching this unfold.  Will you be done before the end of "The Year of Star Wars?"

I'd like to be! But, with my lack of graphics skill and the World Cup about to start. I'm not sure what's going to happen or when.  ;D

I'm going to try to get the actual panel built and then see how tings shake out. Hopefully, in the next week I can get the panel complete.

Yeah, I'm a member of that site. I was an "idiot"  >:D and was searching for "star wars" not "starwars" so I missed a bunch of what was to offer there. I think that'll get me going with some of the art.

I'll post a little more, when I get home, about what I'm trying to do to see if anyone has any ideas on the topic. I think I know what I want to do (roughly). But, there are some good idea floating around here, so I'd like to kind of put out a basic idea and see what springs up.

Thanks!

If you are willing to be nontraditional, consider fan art
I typed tie fighter deviant art into Google and found this.
