  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Hello,

I built my own Mame Arcade Cabinet from a Midway Killer Instinct cab and placed new artwork on all sides

After around 4 weeks I can see that the artwork is starting to peel of slighty (around 1-2mm) just on the outside of both sides.
Checked if the used artwork sticker material shrinked but no so I would like to fix this and stick the peeled of edges as much as I can.

Can someone recommend a way on how to do this? Using a glue? I dont want to replace the artwork and it should look good afterwards.

Anyone similar experience which such a thing???  :notworthy:

Glue stick...
Current collection - 28 cabs, 4 pins. (32 machines and not enough room)

Sure that will 'stick'? I mean I know the standard glue sticks which are used for paper e.g. but would you use and special ones???

Superglue is king.  Had to do the same thing, someone on here recommended superglue, 6 small bottles later and nothings moving anywhere anymore around the edges.  Just make sure you mop up the excess and wipe off the artwork immediately. Ideally test a small piece to check that you don't get any crazy reactions with the glue and plastic/artwork.

I had a similar problem.  I consulted some professionals (michaels) and they recommended decoupage. It worked great.  It goes on like Elmer's glue, but dries hard like super glue quickly.  It also did not bubble and cleans easily with water prior to drying.

Rubber cement has fixed this problem for me.
