The shape of the barrel would have made the addition of a trackball impossible. The game has two multigame PCB's in it so it has a vertical 412-in-1 and a horizontal 128-in-1 inside.  Just having a trackball alone would have been severely limiting.

It's very nice, just found it odd that you theme'd it on Missile Command but it can't properly play missile command.  I do like how you have the top setup to rotate.  Would like to see that on a large lazy susan or slew ring tho so you don't have to unclip it.

@ Le Chuck: it's called "not planning ahead"......you should have seen my face when I got to the point where I had to give up the trackball. You're also right about the lazy Susan idea. That would have been cleaner!

I did sell it for $1k so I was happy about that! Off to the next idea!

1) I'm a total pro at not planning ahead. I'm the guy that just sold all of his original starwars parts and a month later buys a gutted SW cab.

b) that must've been a tidy little profit. Well done!!

daaaaang! 1K! I admit that is a well deserving build, but no matter how you shake it, that is a astonishing stash of beer money. I gotta get in to this barrel build thing.

You sold it? I dunno why, but it makes me sad when guys make these nice custom jobs and then sell them off. You put that time and effort into building it, why sell it?

Not a slight against you jahilbert, just a general observation. $1k IS pretty persuasive...

Was going to suggest that since it did twist you could of put a 2nd control panel on the other-side with a track ball but you sold it so...never mind. :)

It became a love/hate relationship. I felt like a challenge that I overcame but I didn't love the final product. The guy who bought it will love it. I think that is a better ending for the machine......

I somehow missed this.  But, very cool build!:applaud:

My suggestion would be to put a fog machine in the bottom to simulate the thrusters. >:D

I think a bubble machine would make it more "70's" haha.

I'm super late to the party because somehow I missed this one until I saw it nominated.
Awesome job, even without a trakball.  :applaud:

Thanks mgb! I have been away from the forum for awhile! I didn't even know I was nominated until your post! Man, that's pretty dang cool.

Thanks again to those who nominated the cab..............and apologies again for lack of trackball. :)
