Why don't you work up the name of the cab as "Welcome To The Warp Zone" or just "Warp Zone" instead of using 8-bit graphics. The style you worked up with the pipes going up the side looked so much better.

i think you should do the cast of SMB all dressed up as the cast of The Rocky Horror Pictureshow.  Have Bowser in the Frankenfurhter getup, put some koopahs rocking the Riffraff and Magenta thing, Luigi as Eddie, Mario and the Princess as Brad and Janet, Toad as Dr. Everett Scott.

You can still call the whole thing, "Welcome to the Time Warp" - just redesign sets of Rocky Horror to look like the 8-bit levels you already have.  Dining hall, lab, bedroom, foyer, camera room, whatever.  Then you can use the character sprites all over it acting out key scenes from the movie:

Toad sets the scene, Luigi out of the fridge, Koopa greets the guests, Bowser with Peach, Bowser with Mario etc.

The pipes will represent giant phallus-es...phalli...---Deutsche Frankfurters---.

I've never seen that ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. Looks stupid. Thanks for the suggestion though.

And the award for the Nicest way to tell someone to screw off goes to L.T.  (Bonus points for the short reply after Le Chuck went through all the trouble of typing that instead of working on his G.O.T. Pedestal).

Yes! This. I love this one. Stop being so indecisive and just pick this one or scrap the whole project already!  :P

Louis, you're my homie, bro. I couldn't hate anything you do. I celebrate your creativity and your thrift. While some might throw cash at an issue to solve a problem, you figure it out.

I still prefer the very first version, though. It was simple - just looking at it, you knew it was from SMB. It was subtle, yet looked great. The overall design made it. When you start adding screenshot, it becomes less subtle and loses it's charm.

Just my two cents. At any rate, I'm impressed with what you can do in the program. That alone is worth while.

I like it so far but every time I see that control panel (the artwork anyway) I keep thinking something like this.  Kind of an over world/underworld type thing.  Since you have the pipes and all.  But I'm also thinking that many orange tiles clashes a bit with the blue.  Maybe have the orange ground tiles fade into the blue brick tiles at the halfway point on the top part of the panel.  It's late so I'm rambling a bit but does all that make sense?

I love this pedestal so far, maybe because I have a soft spot for Nintendo. It's just fun.  And that idea of painting the score, and coin count etc is cool. Or at least work it into the vinyl art.

I'm calling it now, we need to have a standalone pedestal category for the 2014 UCA. There's just so many of them this early into the year.

Kind of an over world/underworld type thing.

My thought on it is the actual base can be the underworld, the middle can be the overworld , and the CP could be the cloud level. The pipes would totally make sense in that context.    The progress so far is pretty great, keep it up bro
