Furring Strips and Staples
« on: March 13, 2014, 09:44:43 am »
I picked up a cabinet that appears to have furring strips are stapled down to the inside of the cabinet - I need to remove these strips to reposition them.  The strips are just 1/2" in depth I think.  What can I use?  I tried a chisel, which didn't work as the staples sunk deep into the cabinet side and chipped my chisel.

Would a rotary tool work such as a Dremel?  Not sure if there are attachments that might cut wood and metal easily.

Thanks

JDFan

Can't you just get a pry bar underneath and pull?
