maybe he just wanted to delete his posts?

@Ed, I read your post, but there's a language barrier I cant seem to overcome. I have trouble understanding what you mean. I finally figured out that the @ is "Original Poster" and it makes more sense. I stand by my original statement. He doesnt need to explain anything, and if you and Chaddles wish to ignore him for that, then so be it. He didnt break any rules by nuking his posts, and he didnt break into an admin account or anything to do it either, he mearly took advantage of his user rights and did what he wanted to do.

I'm not happy that some threads are disjointed because of it, but there are greater tragedies in the world. We have active members that do more damage to this board just by being active than PBJ did by deleting everything.

If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.

Nobody has been able to come up with a rational reason for removing all of those posts other than "he wanted to stick it to BYOAC".  If he had one, let's hear it, because damaging this archive is something we shouldn't tolerate.

I get how many are upset at this. Yes, it made a lot of extremely useful information close to useless. Unfortunately, everybody (currently) has the right and ability to edit or remove their data on a whim - regardless of the reason - so it does nothing to say we shouldn't "tolerate" something. You can be as angry as you want, sure, but that won't change what happened. You can, of course, petition Saint and the Management to permaban the new account, and that's completely your prerogative.

You want him to do what, exactly? Apologize? From what I remember of the man, you'll never get this. If you're looking to drive him away again, then have at 'er. Maybe that's what you want - I don't know. But, it's certainly within your rights.

Of course it's the real  me.   :P

Just a friendly suggestion, but some of you may want to put alternative means of contact in the body of your posts where you're trying to sell something - the general public can't view profile info.

EDIT - In case anyone was wondering, the marital line was drawn at having the artwork put on t-shirts.    ;D

Hey, James, did you know HaRuMaN finally solved the $200 flatpacked Midway cocktail challenge. I've built two of the ---smurfs---, they're awesome.

Oh, I catch it. Here's the thing: the Members of this forum don't report to you, or any of us. Our actions are our own. You can hate it all you want, but PBJ doesn't owe any of us an explanation of his actions, so repeatedly asking him to "come clean" does nothing but serve to bring the negativity to the forefront.

Can't we all just get along?

Unless those kits come with more than is pictured - pass.

There's other options out there <$400 that get you mostly there, or just spend the $800-900 and get one of those turn key Chinese knockoffs.

If I had a junker to strip for parts then it'd be a good option.

You keep saying those words. I do not think they mean what you think they mean.

We get it. You're upset that he posted a lot of good information, and deleted it. You hope to get an apology, and short of that, an explanation of why.

Are there any other points I may be missing? If so, I would implore you to try and use full sentences, rather than referring to people as "@". I'm not trying to be snarky, especially if English isn't your mother tongue. Sometimes, it's tough to get your point across, and more so when you're using internet shortcuts to type.

Fair points. I got coin doors for both at around $25, brand new glass for $75, LCDs for around $70, and I made the CPs out of wood (though I'm trying to do this next batch from metal). The first one probably cost me around $500 total. HaRuMaN is great to work with, though.

As a "wood only" solution, you certainly can't knock it. It's as close to Midway perfect as possible (I referenced the same plans) but you could always get it customized for parts you may already have. I'm sure you could request that Haruman remove the factory speaker holes and replace them with your own design.

For the record, I:

- have no intent or desire to ban PBJ unless he repeatedly violates the rules of the forum.
- think nuking his posts was a ---smurfy--- thing to do. I tried to restore them but he persisted and was pretty adamant, so I let it alone
- Can still restore them if he wants
- saw that someone created an account called pinballjim on October 8th but didn't activate it, and it's still sitting there.

I haven't been here in a looooong time

But Saturday I was playing pinball with my buddy Mike & he tells me about PinballJim from TX that lived in STL once. Says he might have a video of Lawlor @ an Expo back in the day.

I pop in here to see if PBJ was back & holy ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- look what the cat dragged in.

No idea what went down with Jim while I was away but I hope it was epic

Mike was one of the few people I liked in St. Louis, he and I exchange an e-mail every few months.  Glad to hear he's still telling the tales.

I imagine the Lawlor thing was that recording of him at Expo ranting about how collectors aren't the audience for pinball machines.  If I recall correctly, it was made without his permission, people threw a fit when it was posted online, it got taken down, and I put it right back out there.  (Anyone that expects privacy while giving a speech at a public event is a loon)  I think the current state of manufacturing has proven him wrong, but I also think Lawlor's a bitter old jackass that hasn't designed a new playfield in 25 years.
