Help me name this game

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me find the name of an old game i played. I believe it was for Atari.
Details from what I can remember:
It was black and white
It was a space shooter
It played like tempest. I cant remember if you could fly all the way around the screen or not. You fly down a tunnel shooting stuff. The tunnel was made up of squares. One big square then a smaller one then a smaller one. Sometimes a small spider web looking square would come out and if you flew though it you warped ahead.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? its bugging the crap out of me. I actually registered to post this question and any help would be great!

Sounds somewhat familiar to me.  Star wars or star trek came to mind.

Do you remember the controls?  Was it a flight stick?

Could you see your ship on the screen, or was it the view you saw, like flying in a trench?

Same here. It was a luxury to play Atari on anything other than my 13 inch B&W special.

All my ATARI games were black and white. Didn't get a color TV 'til 84.

I had a black and white tv when I  was younger also.  I kept asking my dad for a color tv.  Until one day he came home and sat me down.  He said "Son.  I broke down and bought you a color tv.  Its in my pocket."  He then proceeded to pull out a pair of 3D glasses.  From that day on my tv was in beautiful color.  Only red and green mind you but I still got color tv.
