Sega Model 3 Twin Coming Soon
« on: September 24, 2013, 04:13:47 pm »
As I mentioned before in Badmouths thread. I planned on having my own set of twins. Well lord behold, it happened sooner then I thought !!  :applaud: I stopped at my local dealer to see what cabs he had to sell. This is the same guy I bought my NFL Blitz, Golden Tee and my Daytona Usa 2 cab from. We were walking threw the warehouse when I saw a Emergency Call Ambulance cab. It had the dash out and laying to the side. All and all, not to bad a shape. I asked if I could get that one, like normal he had to check with the boss and he would let me know. Today I found out I could pick it up tomorrow for 50.00  I pretty excited about having dual cabs for playing with friends and family. I found a used G-27 for 150.00 that I will have another shaft made for. It will be awhile before this project gets much steam. Im just super pumped to find a cab so cheap and close! If anyone is interested, I will be selling my happ motor peddles and wheel from my first cab. I plan on doing the same to the 2nd one.

I got my cab hauled home all safe and sound! ;D When I got there, they hadn't pulled it out from the back yet. After they did, I looked it over better. The dash had been taken off, along with the coin box. The dash has a crack where they pried it loose. The steering wheel was off because someone broke the shaft. The shifter is also broken. The back cover for the seat is busted where the bolts hold it, so thats junk. When I got it unloaded, I checked to to if the game boards and such were still in the cab. Because no one told me if it worked or not. They were :o So the next logical thing to do was plug it in! Thats when I saw this

Yep, im pretty excited. The same day when we walking threw, I saw a jvl orion upright. It had I piece of tape with junk on it. I asked if I could get that one too. Got it home plugged it in and just beeped. Checked the manual, pulled the ram, blew the case and mb out. Replaced the stuck cpu fan, reseated the ram and plugged it in. SCORE! Nice crisp monitor. Has I-touch 7, I even got it for free!

So managed to tear apart my cab. Paint it and move it piece by piece to my basement. Bought new hardware and polished the stainless steel.

In case anyone cares. I got my other cab in my arcade, reconnected the harness. Only to find out, when they pulled the dash, they forget to disconnect the wires for the steering pot. Bought a new one today. Still trying to decide about the broken steering shaft.

I have an initial D dash that didn't sell when I listed it cheap on ebay.  I think I may get more out of just the shifter!
Any chance the steering shaft is the same? (It's NAOMI)

It IS a Sega cab, but one generation newer than your model 3.
It might use the same exact parts, but I don't know.

Search for Initial D steering on ebay and see if it looks like yours.

Hey BadMouth, it is not the same shaft :( I managed to use a electric motor arbor for the time being. Gives the kids something to drive so they stay off my other cab. As soon as I start finish my other 3 cabs I have plans for. I will get started on this.
