Limit Break: Bartop Arcade
« on: July 04, 2013, 06:21:55 pm »
Iv'e been working on this for a while, almost done now so I decided to post all my progress pics.

Design was based off of Unstpuid;s Bartop NeoGeo which you can see here:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,114435.0.html

Materials List:
- 3 2'x4' sheets of plywood (1/2")
- 1 1'x2' sheet of plexi
- 16 Spectralite pushbuttons and 1 coin button from GGG
- 2 Spitfire joysticks from GGG
- 20ft of black T-molding
- Dell Optiplex 645
- 20" LCD
- Cheap Speakers
- Artwork printed from SoulDraw
- Fans salvaged from old computers lying around
- LED strips from IKEA

All the photos I took (full sized) are located here:
https://picasaweb.google.com/116809743842140441441/NeoGeoMVSBartop

This was the initial design/artwork (boring and basic haha) but I've changed it since then

Final side artwork I decided on (before and after printing). I order my prints from SoulDraw, vinyl stickers for the side art and PVC backlight for the marquee. Was only $35 shipped.

Cutting all the wood

Starting to put it together

Glued and assembeled with all the holes cut

Spray painted (3 layers on the back, 1 on the sides)

Started putting things in to check the fit

The computer I am using (massive heat sink somehow managed to fit inside)

Artwork came in the mail, started applying it

Put the buttons and joysticks in, tested the LED's on them

Final (sort of) exterior picture of it (not much connected inside at this point)

More updates to come as I finally finish up!

Excellent job.
Also while looking at the pics, I noticed the Vewlix in the back and checked out the post for it.
You've got two very nice cabs there.

Nice looking cab!  ;)  Ya better put some speaker grills on those holes before someone thinks; "Hey, cup holders!"

Very nice work, and I like your colourscheme on the artwork.  :applaud: :applaud:

I also based my design on Unstupids Neo Geo, but I also looked at i64xArcade and took from them both and made my own design.

The bartops are fun builds.
