Let us play a game of imagination.....
« on: June 13, 2013, 04:27:17 pm »
I'll start.  I'm reading a book by David Brin called EXISTENCE, wherein he (again) introduces some dolphin characters. These aren't 'uplifted', talking dolphins, just your apparently average ones. In any case, Brin relates these creatures and their mannerisms and such, and one is paused to wonder at how life as a dolphin would be. Specifically, swimming around an all, not really ever stopping moving, the world a literal sea of bouyance.

What would this feel like?

For those of you with pools, you can....more...immerse yourself in the 'role'.

Report back your experiences - virtual or acted out.

Great!  Fan-freaking-tastic!  Now everytime I see a pool I'm going to be all like, "I'm not getting in that stupid water or else GA will expect a book report."  Thanks for ruining swimming forever.

OK, I think I have some usable material here.

Last night I had a dream I was a crime boss, Like Mafia. The family was in the toy making business, but we murdered people on the side. I invited executives from Nintendo to negotiate territories. I, however, had the intention to shove them in a plastic bag and toss them in an active geyser. (I guess the toy maker mafia has weird murder practices). At last minute I had a change of heart, because a bald cowboy on an imaginary train showed up and handed me a delicious root beer. It was so delicious that I decided life is short, so I grabbed that GILF from the new doctor who show...ya know the one with blonde curly hair...and we both rode that imaginary train around the room until we crashed though the wall.

I'm pretty sure that is exactly what it is like to be a dolphin.

She is pretty delicious. I think she's a tad older than she looks though. Maybe not GILF level, but def. a seasoned MILF. My wife is more of the doctor who fan than i am, but if they keep showing river song around, I think it will be easy for me to keep watching the show. This season was kinda a snoozer for me until the last couple episodes.

My 10 year old and I have been watching it together this year. We are just finishing up the 10th Doctor and are getting ready for the next regeneration.

Gotcha. Well, I think you are gonna like the 11th doctor. Dramatic different feel in the episodes, but in a good way. But in this last season, I just feel he's run his course, they are not writing anything clever for him anymore. I'm ready for the 12th doctor.

I keep checking Gray Area's last login time hoping he hasn't taken drugs and tried to play underwater dolphin.

SMOOCH.   Actually, I just got done. I do this every day, because, you know, it's ---smurfing--- SUMMER, and I'm swimming every day. And that's how I swim. Underwater, gyrating and twisting and somersaulting, bobbing up for air in-betweenst.

For an hour or more. Today was an hour and a half.

@Vigo: Man, I didn't know what the ---fudgesicle--- you were talking about because you didn't capitalise the name!  Heinous.

And nay on the lass. Blue eyes are almost a sure disqualifier. I'm surprised she doesn't have a rack, though. That's always a big seller with the gents....

I have a pool.  I was really tired Saturday so I hopped in.  The previous home owner installed all sorts of jets and waterfalls (neighbors tell me he threw epic Tiki parties).  If I turn all the waterfalls/jets/both pumps on in certain ways, the water kind of churns endlessly.  I hoped in and floated in the middle, circling and constantly moving.  It was relaxing, continuously moving but not of my own accord.  I enjoyed it, then I felt like I needed another beer.

Interesting. The kid across the street from me had a perhaps ten-foot round pool (above-ground, but they actually dug a hole about half-deep for it). Seemed big to us cos we were like six and seven. Was great for making whirlpools, especially when one of his older brothers (youngest was eight years older) was there really raking the water.

Nowadays I get in this way:
