Little Lake Tahoe Trip
« on: May 16, 2013, 12:02:22 am »
Took a small trip with the little lady to North Lake Tahoe. Beautiful place, I highly recommend it.

I shared pictures of my trip abroad here if you are interested.

Little cabin we rented - VRBO.COM is super useful - Spent most of our time on the beach but was a nice place to come home to

Nice & Cozy (and affordable)

Some shots of the nearby beach (water was ridiculously cold)

Modestly sized beer

Found a more secluded and hard to get to beach. Much more peaceful without all the people.

Tons of rocks at the edge of this beach, got to show off my ninja skills. No one was able to get over one of the larger rocks that stands between all of them so we didn't have anyone bothering us while we chilled out with our tits out.

Obligatory Jesus Dog

Had to

I would like to see some of your Vacation pictures\threads so please post them.

Cory, I think I like your travel log threads more than your build threads...and I like your build threads a lot.  Thanks for sharing and changing up the tone in here every once in a while.  Its nice to get some fresh air.     :applaud:

Haha, thanks LeChuck. That was almost an insult but ya pulled it around. Good form old boy!

I was serious about other people sharing some vacation photos, I would like to see some new things for the aging noggin. Military pictures are welcome as well.  :dunno

Lake Tahoe is fun.  Great skiing location!  We'll see about vacation pics.  I have those Germany World cup 2006 pics somewhere around here.

My god that is awesome! You took that picture?

My wife and I are going to Hawaii this summer for my 40th birthday.

I have plans to take a flight there with the little lady next month. We will see if it falls through. Maui by the way.

I grew up outside of Lake Tahoe (near Donner) and worked at Northshore for a couple of years. It's weird when people ask for vacation photos of the area, I just see home.

Yeah Cory I took that pic. Here's a few more. It was really nice out there. Funny thing is my wife hates cold weather but she's always wanted to go there.

Don't let the sun and rainbow fool you, it was like 12 degrees that day.  :hissy:

Well please share anyways! For most people (not me) who only see the city landscape, buildings and houses all their life it is amazing. Also, if this sounds like you go out and see some shinny parts of your local region or take a vacation!  :blah:

Absolutely stunning pictures! Hope you enjoyed yourself....and had a few layers of coats on.

Using a Cannon Rebel T3i with the stock lens and a f/2.8 for some of the shots.

I don't live there anymore, though my mother does. I live near the Sacramento area and quite honestly, Sacramento sucks. Not my favorite place to live. It's reasonably safe and all but not my cup of tea.

Let me try and post a few pics. ...

The first three pics are when my mother broke her arm and I had to drive up there with my wife (who is from L.A.) to fetch my mother and drive her back down. Photo #4 shows a big orange blob. That my friends is a large (though not the largest to roam around up there) snow plow in nearly pure white out conditions. Yes, I am driving and taking pictures. Yes, I did not see the snow plow until I took the picture (essentially right on top of the beast) but I knew it was somewhere. For those that don't know, when snow plows are operating at full bore, they make a distinct noise. A sort of rumbling roar coupled with the sound a bucket loader might make. That's the sound of the diesel engine going full bore as the auger chews up ten foot snow drifts. Seriously, you do not want to be in front of one when it is operating.

Then final pick (mismarked as #1) is after the storm. A month I think? It's the local post office/general store/sandwich shop

Sorry for the ---smurfy--- quality, the next two are actually screen grabs from the video I took.

The next is the road leading up to my house I think... two maybe three weeks after that storm?

The next is the house I grew up under... I think 15 feet of snow. That house is designed to withstand that kind of snow.

I have others. Most will probably need to be scanned since they predate my digital camera. The digital ones I'd have to hunt down.
