Feelin' Lonely
« on: November 10, 2003, 11:35:09 pm »
Seems like most of you are out in the midwest...

Anyone else from Virginia besides me here?

Not from Virginia, but I'm just a ways south of there in NC.

I'm currently in Louisiana but am from Galax (about 45min south of Roanoke).  Going to be moving back in March though.  Wife will be going to VT (noticed the email).

Wow, I never me a real live Galaxian before. I'll bet that game was real popular around your area 20 years ago.

My car broke down in Galax about 7-8 years ago.  Seemed like a nice place, and the machanic who towed/fixed my car was super nice, too.  Didn't overcharge me even though he had me totally over a barrel (I was on my way back to Cincinnati from Raleigh, and my timing belt snapped).  Haven't been through there in years though.

I'm not from Virginia, but I live in Montgomery County MD. down the street from abrannan.

Wait...so your wife is going to Vermont, but you're staying?

I live in Vermont, Brattleboro to be precise.  Too bad more MAMErs aren't here.  I'm lonely too.

just checked out Brattleboro's location for fun as i hadn't heard of it during my infrequent trips through vermont. looks like its in in the southeast portion where i really haven't been which explains that mystery. i work in schenectady, ny and live a lil bit north near saratoga.

Brattleboro is one of the largest towns in Vermont.  It's funny that we're a town, and not a city.  We've certainly got the population for it.

It's an okay place.  I grew up in Springfield, VT, and moved to Monticello, NY after graduation.  I moved back in '96

Patch, thats awesome your wife will be going to Virginia Tech... that's where I go (if you hadn't already guessed).  I live in Pulaski now, but I grew up in Norfolk.

What's she gonna major in?  I'm majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Mathematics.

She's majoring in Secondary Education in Mathmatics (High School Math Teacher).  She is currently attending LSU.  I just got out of the Air Force so were moving back closer to home.  Wow, I never thought anyone from my neck of the woods would be into a hobby like this.  :)

I LOVE this hobby.  It's the greatest thing ever... :)

I'm slowly converting people at school into MAME fanatics... I'm sure when I get a cabinet built, I'll be able to hook 'em for sure.   :P

My fiancee is a 5th grade teacher.  About the only thing I can tempt her with is Pac Man or Frogger.
