We also didn't make it on to the new upcoming show "Billy Bob's World" which was recently picked up for at least a few episodes. It's a show that focuses on the journey of Jonah White who invented those silly fake hillbilly teeth. Thing is, part of the show was about new inventors with novel products and how they can bring them to market. My daughter did get an audition and she actually made it to the final round before being non-selected for the first few episodes. That was something we were working on before I brought this up to you all in the first place. If more episodes get picked up we get thrown back in to the hopper. I'll tell you, it's been really, really fun to share this experience with her and she's so level headed about it, it's remarkable.
Now the reason for the post. I just got in my first batch of 1000 custom dice and I'm assembling the final packaging. To support this mission when I bring it to retailers, I'd like to have a very simple flash game on the website that is a digital version of the game. That way people can play it online and if they are so inclined they can buy a physical product. I am considering Android and iPhone apps as well. It's been like 15+ years since I was into programming so for me to do this would take forever to get up to speed, even assembling the open source code that's available. To that end, I wonder if any of you have any interest in building such an animal. I'm looking for the flash version to imbed in my site as well as to promote to other websites that feature flash gaming. I have a limited budget, but I do have a budget. Maybe we can just talk about it? I'm not looking for something very involved, at first. Just a simple animated die for one player vs. three or four bots. The rule set is simple and the random doll of the die is trivial as well. I can supply artwork, I just can't code any more.
Any one interested in getting some exposure for their skilz? Or someone who loves Danish Pastry that's interested in a deal? Please let me know. I've come here first since you all have a wide range of skills and attention to gaming in general. It seems like a natural fit.
Here is what I envision.
Click on the die to roll it. IOr even just click on the "Roll Die" button to generate a random die face. Based on game rules, the player can mover ships from any player to another based on game rules. When one player gets all the chips, game is over and a "You Win" message appears. I can go in to depth, or you can check out the rules for the Three Squares game on
www.beakergames.com. I don't need a bunch of super fancy stuff at this point.
Anyone? I have no idea what the going rate is for something like this. Rather come here than go to a local university and look for students or a recent grad to showcase their work.
